April 15th
Joseph G. Hnath, 83, of 999 Brusselles St., St. Marys, died unexpectedly on Friday, April 15, 2011 at his residence.
He was born May 13, 1927, in St. Marys, son of the late Joseph and Mary Bures Hnath. On May 20, 1950, in the Sacred Heart Church, he married Irene Cornello, who survives.
He was a lifelong resident of the area and attended St. Marys schools. He was a retired employee of the Stackpole Carbon Co., retiring in 1990 after 41 years of service.
April 14th
Norma J. Whalon, 84, of Elk Haven Nursing Home, and formerly of 110 Wehler Rd. in St. Marys, where she made her home with her daughter, died Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at Elk Haven Nursing Home.
She was born Aug. 20, 1926 in Independence, Kansas, a daughter of the late Walter Raymond and Hazel P. Thomas Bryant
She was married to the late Robert Copello, who preceded her in death in 1976. She was later married to Lawrence Whalon.Â
Mrs. Whalon had always enjoyed reading.
April 13th
Rita Hanes Wendel, 79, of Anaheim, Calif., died Sunday, April 10, 2011 after a lengthy illness.
She was born May 20, 1931, in St. Marys, the daughter of the late Floyd and Barbara Hanes.
On June 23, 1956 in St. Marys, she married Raymond "Bud" Wendel, who preceded her in death in March 2007.
She attended Catholic schools in St. Marys. She enjoyed traveling and playing cards with friends and family.
Alex J. Skraba, 78, of 355 Dewey Circle, Ridgway, died peacefully at his residence on Tuesday, April 12, 2011.
He was born Dec. 19, 1932, in DuBois, the son of the late Samuel and Anna Radzek Skraba.
On June 9, 1956, he married Helen C. Bienkowski, who survives.

Alex J. Skraba, 78, of 355 Dewey Circle, Ridgway, died peacefully at his residence on Tuesday, April 12, 2011.
He was born Dec. 19, 1932, in DuBois, the son of the late Samuel and Anna Ridzik Skraba.
On June 9, 1955, he married Helen C. Bienkowski, who survives.

Rickey Anthony Antonuccio, 55, of Beach Grove Road, Ridgway, died on Monday, April 4, 2011, at the Hershey Medical Center.
He was born October 23, 1955, in Ridgway, the son of Nicholas P. Antonuccio, who survives, and the late Edna L. Dilley Antonuccio.
He resided in Ridgway for most of his life. He attended Ridgway Area High School. He enjoyed billards, construction, 4-wheeling, cards, storytelling, being around kids, repairing and painting cars. He was an automotive mechanic for 40 years.
Charles J. Marconi, 79, of 120 Hemlock Rd., St. Marys, died Monday morning, April 11, 2011, at his home after a brief illness.
He was born Feb. 24, 1932, in St. Marys, son of the late Zolferino and Mary Nart Marconi.
On Nov. 5, 1955, in the St. Mary's Church, he married Norma Salter, who survives.
April 10th
James E. Clark Sr., 66, of 1585 Montmorenci Rd., Ridgway, died early Sunday morning, April 10, 2011, at DuBois Regional Medical Center following a lengthy illness.
He was born Sept. 15, 1944 in Ridgway, son of the late Robert A. and Margaret I. (McDonald) Clark.
He married Gale M. Moore on July 13, 1968, and she survives.
He resided in Ridgway all of his life and was a member of the Ridgway Moose Club, the V.F.W., and a former member and past president of the International Camping Club. He had attended Ridgway area schools.
Richard "Dick" Carr, 62, of 124 Siecker Rd, St. Marys, died early Sunday morning, April 10, 2011, surrounded by his family following an incredible battle with leukemia.
He was born Oct. 6, 1948, in Ridley Park, Philadelphia, son of the late William and Dorothy Detweiler Carr. He became a lifelong resident of St. Marys.
On July 24, 1970, he married Margaret Weisner Carr. Together they had three children, an amazing, loving marriage, and countless laughs and fun times with family and friends.

Anthony Alan Scilingo, 71, died Friday, April 8, 2011 at Arbor Hospice in Ann Arbor, Mich.
Anthony was born June 16, 1939 in Johnsonburg, the son of the late Anthony and Adeline Scilingo. In 1962, he married Catherine (Munn) Scilingo, who survives, in Penfield.
