Floyd J. "Pinky" Wickett

Floyd J. "Pinky" Wickett Sr., 96, a resident of Elk Haven and formerly of Elk Towers and Martin Road, died Thursday, June 30, 2011 at the Elk Haven Nursing Home following a brief illness.
He was born July 18, 1914 in St. Marys, son of the late Francis J. and Anna Schreiber Wickett.
He was a lifelong resident of the area and attended St. Marys schools. He was a retired employee of St. Marys Carbon Co.
On October 28, 1949, in Morgantown, W.V., he married Ruth M. Mertz, who preceded him in death on Jan. 5, 2002.

Ruth A. Bartoletti

Ruth A. Bartoletti, 92, of River Road, Caledonia, died Thursday, June 30, 2011 at DRMC West following a short illness.
She was born Aug. 28, 1918 in Penfield, daughter of the late Frederick and Ruth E. (Sexton) Spencer.
She married Charles M. Bartoletti on Oct. 2, 1937, and he preceded her in death on March 23, 1991.

David J. "Bud" Silvis

David J. "Bud" Silvis, 86, of 152 Baumer Rd., St. Marys, died Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at the Pinecrest Manor after an illness of the past several months.
He was born on March 27, 1925, in St. Marys, the son of the late David and Irene Cheatle Silvis. In November 1949 at St. Agnes Episcopal Church, he married Loraine E. Overturf, who preceded him in death on Jan. 13, 1999.
He was a lifelong resident of the area and attended St. Marys schools. He was employed as a chemical engineer at the Stackpole Carbon Co., retiring in 1983.

Anthony James Assalone

Anthony James Assalone, 76, of Mt. Run Road, Penfield, died Friday, June 24, 2011, at home after a lengthy illness.
He was born Dec. 28, 1934 in Weedville, son of the late Anthony James and Rose Assalone Sr.
He married Catherine (Webb) Assalone on Nov. 22, 1958, and she preceded him in death on Jan. 9, 2010.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Garnet E. Taylor

Garnet E. Taylor, 73, of Silver City, N.M., died Friday, June 17, 2011 at home after a brief illness.
She was born October 11, 1937 in Caledonia, the daughter of the late William K. and Elizabeth J. (Newell) Winslow.
In 1983, she married Phillip Taylor of Silver City, N.M., who survives.
She lived all her life in Caledonia until 1983, when she traveled extensively, and most recently lived in New Mexico.  

Jenny (Lind) DeLong

Jenny (Lind) DeLong, 70, of Woodland Avenue, Johnsonburg, died Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at home after a short illness.
She was born Dec. 24, 1940 in Titusville, daughter of the late Edward and Amy (Davidson) Lind.
On Aug. 27, 1960, she married Richard “Dick” DeLong, who survives.
She was born and raised in Titusville and lived in Johnsonburg since 1964. She was a graduate of Titusville High School, attended Clarion University and spent one year traveling in Denmark learning from her family there.

Clarence R. “Cal” Dush, 87, of 5225 Grant Road, Ridgway, died Sunday, June 19, 2011. He was born October 4, 1923, in Ridgway, the son of the late George R. and Ida E. Dallenbach Dush. On June 15, 1946, he married his wife of 65 years, June N. Fassette, who survives.

John (Jack) Edward Krieg, 64, of Indianapolis, Ind., died on Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at the Robert L. Roudebush VA Hospital in Indianapolis following a lengthy illness.

Jeannine G. Prindle

Jeannine G. Prindle, 81, of 212 Alpine Street, Ridgway, died Saturday, June 18, 2011 at her residence.
She was born June 29, 1929, in Woodland, the daughter of the late Clifton and Elsie Wilson Mitchell.
In 1962, she married Joseph E. Prindle, who predeceased her on June 10, 2011.
She had been a lifelong Ridgway resident and had been employed as a telephone operator for Alltel, retiring in 1984.
She is survived by a brother, James Mitchell of Zionsville, Ind. (formerly of Clearfield); and by two nieces, Debra Kline and Diane Bakaysa.

William L. "Triple P" Summerson Sr.

William L. "Triple P" Summerson Sr., 81, of 214 Columbus St., St. Marys, died Friday, June 17, 2011 at the home of his son William Summerson Jr. of Cuneo Road, Kersey, after an illness of the past two months.
He was born Oct. 10, 1929, in Sterling Run, son of the late Fred Leroy and Marie Devling Summerson.
He attended Sterling Run schools and had resided in St. Marys since 1992. He was a former employee of the Mallery Lumber Co. in Emporium and retired from the Bureau of Reclamation and had been last employed by the Keystone Carbon Co.
