Eleanor A. Galsick, 92, of 4117 Rasselas Rd., Wilcox, died Monday afternoon, August 1, 2011 at Elk Regional Health Center in St. Marys following a brief illness.
She was born on December 10, 1918 in Rasselas, daughter of the late Frederick and Gertrude Markert Brechtel.
She married Frank P. Galsick on September 21, 1940 in Holy Cross Church in Rasselas. He died June 20, 1988.
She resided in Rasselas all of her life and attended Rasselas schools and Wilcox High School.
She was a member of Holy Cross Church.
Margaret "Maggie" Shields McCoy Schreiber, 76, of 74 Glass Rd., St. Marys, died peacefully at home on Tuesday, August 2, 2011 following a lengthy battle with ovarian cancer.
She was born March 26, 1935, in Ford City, daughter of the late Edward L. and Anne McGinley Shields. In October 1993 in Wilcox, she married Robert J. "R.J." Schreiber, who survives. They were married by Fr. Norbert Wolf.

Penn State Football's annual Media Day took place Thursday beginning with Head Coach Bill O'Brien's inaugural press conference.
