Michael A. Carnovale

Michael A. Carnovale, 55, of Orange, Calif., died at the Kaiser Permanente Hospital on Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2011.
He was born Feb. 23, 1956 in St. Marys, the son of Bruno A. Carnovale and the late Marlene Wolfel Carnovale. On June 15, 1991 at St. Patrick’s Church in San Diego, Calif., he married Elva Lau, who survives.

Shirley Mae Bush

Shirley Mae Bush, 84, previously of Ridgway and Sun City, Ariz., died Nov. 19, 2011, in Conneautville, Pa.
She was born April 28, 1927 in Kane, a daughter of the late George R. Anderson and Carrie Hathaway Anderson. She married William A. Bush, who preceded her in death.

Kenneth E. Reinard

Kenneth E. Reinard, 81, of SR 948, Highland, died late Sunday, Nov. 20, 2011 at the Kane Lutheran Home after a lengthy illness.
He was born March 14, 1930 in Kane, son of the late Walter and Mary Leona (Reisinger) Reinard.
In 1969, he married Dorothy Ann Schneider, who survives.

Gerald C. “Gerry” Luchini

Gerald C. “Gerry” Luchini, 58, of Old Byrnedale Rd., Weedville, died Monday, Nov. 21, 2011 at the Altoona Regional Health Center, as a result of injuries sustained in an October 31 trucking accident.
He was born June 12, 1953 in Kersey, son of Helen M. (Fry) Luchini and the late Francis Luchini.
He married Joan A. (Smith) on Aug. 23, 1975, and she survives.

Roderick A. Ironside

Roderick A. Ironside, 84, died Sunday, Nov. 20, 2011 in North Carolina.
He was born June 12, 1927 in Chicago, Ill., a son of the late Alfred Dudley and Ruth Searcy Ironside.
He was married to Ellen Mentzer, who survives.
He was a graduate of St. Marys Public High School, Class of 1945, having gone through all of the 12 grades at the school on South St. Marys Street. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was always interested in writing and he published a newspaper as a boy called "The Daily Mirror," which he circulated around the neighborhood.

Martha Blessel Wonderly Brendlinger

Martha Blessel Wonderly Brendlinger, 86, of 764 Shelvey Summit Rd., Kersey, died Monday morning, Nov. 21, 2011 at her residence following a lengthy illness.
She was born April 22, 1925 in St. Marys, daughter of the late Albert and Appalonia (Portzer) Blessel.
She married John W. Wonderly, who preceded her in death on April 13, 1970. She then married John L. Brendlinger on Nov. 17, 1979, who survives.

Michael W. Manno Jr., 86, of 325 Willow Street, Johnsonburg, died Monday evening, Nov. 21 at the Elk Regional Health Center following a brief illness.
He was born Sept. 4, 1925 in Johnsonburg, son of the late Michael W. and Margaret Knopic Manno. He married the former Sophie A. Czekai in December of 1957 in St. Joseph Church, Mt. Jewett. She preceded him in death on March 15, 2010.

Donald D. Truesdale Sr.

Donald D. Truesdale Sr., 91, of Shawmut Road, Brockport, died on Friday, Nov. 18, 2011 at the Jefferson Manor in Brookville.
He was born on Aug. 2, 1920 in Brockway, the son of the late Lewis and Mary Muir Truesdale.
On May 7, 1947 in Brockway, he married Marie Moberg, who survives.
He honorably served his country during WWII as a Tail Gunner in the U.S. Air Force. He also served in the 405th Bombardment Squadron of the 38th Bombardment Group.

Jerome T. "Jump" Hasselman

Jerome T. "Jump" Hasselman, 77, of 122 Laurel Lane, Kersey, died Saturday, Nov. 19, 2011 at his residence.
He was born Dec. 29, 1933, in St. Marys, son of the late George and Anna Woelfel Hasselman.
On June 2, 1956, in the St. Mark Church in Emporium, he married Mary C. Brennan, who survives.
He was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, Class of 1951. He was the owner of the former Weigh Scale Bar in St. Marys and the Wayside Inn in Kersey and retired as an insurance inspector for MIB of Harrisburg.

A Memorial Mass for Edith J. Bogacki will be held in St. Leo’s Catholic Church on Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2011 at 11 a.m. Officiating will be Fr. Brian Vossler, pastor. Interment will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens.
There will be no visitation. Funeral arrangements, are under the direction of the Meehan-Shilk Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to St. Leo’s School, 17 Depot St., Ridgway, PA 15853.
