Elizabeth A. Kosmiski, 84, of the Lutheran Home at Kane, died Sunday, Feb. 12, 2012, at her residence.
She was born April 30, 1927, in Ridgway, the daughter of Daniel and Elizabeth Kline Brehm. She married Richard A. Kosmiski, who predeceased her on Oct. 6, 1970.
Mrs. Kosmiski was a member of St. Leoâ€™s Catholic Church, the Holy Name Society, Catholic Daughters of America and the Idlers Club. She had been employed at the Hour Glass Dry Cleaners in Ridgway.
She is survived by a daughter, Pamela Gregori (Leo) of St. Marys; 12 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
Jay-Don Joseph Hall, 78, of 58 Diamond Lodge Way, Emporium, died Saturday evening, Feb. 11, 2012, at his residence.
He was born Jan. 27, 1934, in Barnes, Warren County, son of the late Charles J. and Alice M. (MacMartin) Hall. He had resided in Emporium for the last few months but had been a former resident of Truman, Austin, Ridgway and Kersey.
James Vincent "GG" Christoff, 89, a resident of Fairview Manor in Erie and formerly of 520 Brusselles St., St. Marys, died Sunday, Feb. 12, 2012 at UPMC Hamot Hospital in Erie.
He was born Jan. 5, 1923 in Ridgway, son of the late Chester and Lena Piccirillo Christoff. He was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of St. Leo's High School, Class of 1941. He was also a graduate of the DuBois Business College.
On June 5, 1947, in the Sacred Heart Church, he married Dorothy Vollmer, who survives.
Emma Irene Wallace, 99, of Mill Run Road, Penfield, died Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012.
She was born Dec. 29, 1912 in Akron, Ohio, daughter of the late Frank Boughner and Laura (Pressler) Plyler. She married Dorsey S. Wallace, who preceded her in death in 1970.
Mrs. Wallace lived in Ohio until coming to the area in 1937, remaining the rest of her life in Mill Run.Â
She was a homemaker. She also worked five years with Stackpole Carbon. She was Methodist by faith and a member of the Gold Star Wives of America.Â She enjoyed crocheting and crossword puzzles and her life was devoted to her family.
Ned J. Kopp, 80, of 313 Welsh St., Kane, formerly of St. Marys, died Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012 at the Kane Community Hospital.
Born Dec. 14, 1931 in St. Marys, he was the son of the late William C. and Caroline E. Weber Kopp.Â On June 6, 1964 in Emporium, he married Marilyn M. Haviland, who died July 4, 2011.
Ned was a mechanic for Airco Speer in St. Marys for many years.Â He served in the U.S. Army after WWII and during the Korean War, andÂ was part of the St. Marys Serviceman's Detail.
Patricia L. Cook, 89, of 223 Irving Ave., Ridgway, died Friday, Feb. 10, 2012, at Pinecrest Manor.
She was born Aug. 17, 1922, in Ridgway, the daughter of Everett and Phyllis Shugars Carberry. She married Lawrence K. Cook; he predeceased her on Aug. 29, 1994.
Mrs. Cook resided in Ridgway most of her life, where she was a member of St. Leoâ€™s Catholic Church. She enjoyed her tea time with friends and being with her family. She had been employed at Sylvania in St. Marys.
