William Ryan Hayes, 73, of Manayunk, died Friday, March 9, 2012.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Nilson Hayes; two sons, Mark R. Hayes and Justin V. Hayes of Roxborough; a daughter, Stephanie Hayes Gallagher (Mark) of Somerville, N.J.; two grandchildren, Aidan and Abigail Gallagher; and two brothers, Leo "Cappy" Hayes of East Falls and John Hayes of State College.
He was preceded in death by a son, Drew Nilson Hayes; and two sisters, Mary Ann Sommers and Kathryn Hayes Dugan.
Richard N. Fleming, 86, of 838 South Michael Rd., St. Marys, died on Sunday, March 11, 2012 at the Elk Regional Health Center following a brief illness.
He was born Aug. 31, 1925 in St. Marys, son of the late Robert and Theresa Hoffman Fleming. On April 19, 1947 in the St. Maryâ€™s Church, he married Alice M. Baumer, who survives.
He was a lifelong resident of the area and attended St. Marys parochial schools. He was a retired manager of the Charles P. Harvey Distributor, retiring in 1988 after 45 years of service.
Margaret A. Nearing, 96, of 1396 Burning Well Rd., Wilcox, died on Monday, March 12, 2012 at Elk Haven Nursing Home in St. Marys following a lengthy illness.
She was born on April 20, 1915 in Wilcox, daughter of the late John and Anna Simko Pavlina.
On Nov. 4, 1933 in the Holy Cross Church in Rasselas, she married Linus J. Nearing, who died on Feb. 11, 2001.
She resided in the Wilcox area all her life and attended Wilcox schools.
Mrs. Nearing was a member of St. Anne's Church in Wilcox.
Earl E. Jacobs, 77, of 407 Cobb St., Johnsonburg, died on Monday, March 12, 2012 at Elk Regional Health Center following a short illness.
He was born on Sept. 1, 1934 in Johnsonburg, son of Harold and Katherine Stager Jacobs.
On Oct. 28, 1961 in Holy Rosary Church in Johnsonburg, he married Dorothy Dworsky. She died Feb. 4, 1986.
He resided in Johnsonburg his entire life and was a graduate of Johnsonburg High School, Class of 1952.
Mr. Jacobs was a member of the Holy Rosary Church, Johnsonburg American Legion Post 501 and Wilcox Sportsmen's Club.
