George M. Uhl, 83, of 718 Uhl Rd., St. Marys, died Tuesday evening, April 10, 2012, at the UPMC Hamot Hospital in Erie after a brief illness.
He was born June 18, 1928, in St. Marys, son of the late John T. and Edna Schaberl Uhl. On April 30, 1955, in the Sacred Heart Church, he married Marie T. Wilhelm, and she preceded him in death on Oct. 23, 1995.
He was a self-employed plumbing and heating contractor with Feldbauer & Uhl, Inc.
David A. Sharp, 88, of Clearfield, died on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at his home, which he made with his sister Catherine Coder of Clearfield.
He was born on Sept. 3, 1923, in Brush Run, Clarion County, son of the late Harry W. and Alverta Macinch Sharp.
He was employed as a coal miner, and was a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church of Clearfield. He was also a member of the Clearfield Veterans of Foreign Wars F. Michael Sicks Post #1785.
He served in the U.S. Army during WWII.
Amer V. Haight, 92, of 123 Swede St., Dagus Mines, died Tuesday, April 10, 2012, at the Pinecrest Manor after a brief illness.
He was born Dec. 2, 1919, in Emlenton, son of the late Joseph Curtis and Ozzie Silvis Haight. On Jan. 25, 1946, in Miola, he married Violet R. Allshouse, who survives.
He had been a resident of the area since 1951. He attended Elder Township School and was a retired employee of Airco Speer, retiring in 1972 after 27 years of service.
