September 30th
Anne (Twig) Vogt, 56, of 326 Shawmut Ave., Johnsonburg, died Sunday morning, Sept. 30, 2012, at her residence following a lengthy illness.
She was born Dec. 26, 1955, in Johnsonburg, daughter of the late Orlando (Popeye) and Borgia McDivitt Maletto. On Aug. 10, 1974, at St. Leo's Church in Ridgway, she married Victor (Vic) Vogt, who survives.
She lived in Johnsonburg most of her life and also lived briefly in Ridgway. She graduated from Johnsonburg Area High School in 1973.
Dorothy M. Thompson, 75, of 80 Blue Ridge Dr., Levittown, and formerly of St. Marys, died at her home following a brief illness on Friday, Sept. 28, 2012 surrounded by her family.
She was born Nov. 15, 1936 in St. Marys, a daughter of the late George and Edna Shobert Hess.
She was a member of Weedville Wesleyan Church in her early years. She had worked as a computer programmer since 1991. She was a loving and dedicated mother, grandmother and sister who enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.Â
John Edward Rogers, 93, formerly of Winterburn Road, Penfield, died early Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012 at Christ the King Manor of DuBois, where he had been a resident for six months.
He was born Oct. 31, 1918 in Winterburn, son of the late Edward and Grace (Hicks) Rogers.
He married Doris (McCafferty), who survives.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a medical technician, achieving a fifth grade rank. He also received the Asiatic/Pacific Campaign Medal with two Bronze Stars, being in the battles of New Guinea and Luzon and also the liberation of the Philippines.
Silvio J. Martini, 88, of 1603 Bucktail Rd., St. Marys, died Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012 at the Elk Regional Health Center after a lengthy illness.
He was born Dec. 17, 1923, in Brandy Camp, son of the late John and Angeline Pettite Martini.
On Aug. 13, 1946, in the St. Joseph's Church in Force, he married Betty R. Cashmer, who preceded him in death on May 20, 2009.
He was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Brandy Camp schools. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. He was a retired employee of the Stackpole Corp., retiring in 1986 after 46 years of service.
Pauline K. Gebauer, 82, of Elk Towers,185 Center St., St. Marys, and formerly of 430 W. 6th St., Emporium, died at Elk Regional Health Center, St. Marys, on Friday evening, Sept. 28, 2012.
She was born Jan. 8, 1930 in DuBois, a daughter of the late Rudolph and Anna Kassawara.
On Oct. 18, 1958 in St. Mark Catholic Church, she married the late Gerhard Gebauer.
Helene M. Baumer, 96, of 147 Queens Rd., St. Marys, died on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012 at Elk Haven Nursing Home.
She was born June 21, 1916 in St. Marys, a daughter of the late Michael and Esther Haberberger Baumer.
She was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, Class of 1934. She was a member of Queen of the World Church.Â
She lived in New York City for 52 years and worked as a registered nurse. She moved back to St. Marys in 1992.
She is survived by a sister, Alice Fleming of St. Marys; and by several nieces and nephews.

James R. "Jim" Logue Jr., 76, of DuBois, died Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012 at his residence following a brief illness.
He was born March 9, 1936, in Brockway, son of the late James R. Sr. and Olevia (Kopp) Logue.
On Jan. 2, 1960, he married Rita M. (Perry) Logue, who survives.
Jim was a graduate of Brockway High School and a member of St. Michael the Archangel Church in DuBois.
He was the retired former owner of Logue’s Insurance Agency in Brockway. He also did sign painting, piano tuning and had a nightclub band for many years called "The Sounds of Music."

Michael H. Way, 67, of Mountain Laurel Nursing Home and formerly of St. Marys, died on Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012 at Clearï¬eld Hospital.
He was born Jan. 3, 1945 in Janesville, Wis., a son of the late Thomas H. and Ruth Savage Way.
He was married to the late Judy Way.
Mike was a graduate of St. Marys Area High School, where he also played on the football team as the quarterback and then received a full scholarship to Miami University. He served in the U.S. Army as a military policeman and was honorably discharged in 1968.Â
September 24th
Ina F. "Babe" Stonik, 91, of Christ the King Manor in DuBois and formerly of Medix Run, died peacefully on Sunday, Sept. 23, 2012 at Christ the King Manor.
She was born Jan. 24, 1921 in Medix Run, daughter of the late Gustave and Elva (Higgins) Snyder. She married Bernard John Stonik on March 15, 1941. He died on Nov. 4, 2004.
Ina lived most of her life in Medix Run, Nelson's Golden Years and Christ the King Manor. She was a homemaker, loving mother, artist and early environmentalist. She enjoyed reading, was a great cat lover and was a lifetime member of the Society of Henry Wolcott.
William (Gussie) Gusmerotti, 63, of Ridgway, died Friday night, September 21, 2012 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh following a brief illness.
William was born Feb. 17, 1949 in DuBois, the son of the late Isaac and Maria (Bleggi) Gusmerotti. Â
William worked at Weyerhaeuser in Ridgway and Keystone Carbon in St. Marys. He also was employed many years at Ridgway Dry Cleaner. He was an active member of the Ridgway Moose Club. Â
