Dorothy M. Minnick, 91, a resident of Pinecrest Manor, St. Marys, and formerly of Walnut Street, St. Marys, died at Elk Regional Health Center on Tuesday, July 16 following a lengthy illness.
She was born May 14, 1922 in St. Marys, a daughter of the late George and Clara Gahn Minnick.
Gerald F. Gahr, 74, of 104 Evers Avenue, died on Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at his home after an illness of the past several months.
He was born on February 26, 1939 in Kersey, son of the late Edwin and Agnes Heigle Gahr Sr.
He was a lifelong resident of the area and graduated in 1957 from the Kersey High School.
On July 4, 1959, in the St. Mary's Church, he married Patricia A. Grunthaner, who survives.
Charles T. Stahli, 38, of 162 Lawrence St., Wilcox, died Tuesday morning, July 16, 2013 on Rt. 6 east of Kane as the result of injuries received in an early morning automobile accident.
He was born Sept. 3, 1974, son of Pauline Stahli.
He resided in Wilcox all his life and attended Johnsonburg Area High School.
He was a member of St. Anne's Church. He loved hanging out with friends and family, hunting and fishing. He was a very generous uncle to his several nieces and nephews.
He was employed by Ion Technologies for the past two years. He also worked in construction.
Geraldine P. Young, 83, a resident of Ridgmont Assisted Living Facility in Ridgway, and formerly of 1168 Windfall Rd., St. Marys, died unexpectedly Tuesday, July 9, 2013, at Ridgmont.
She was born October 3, 1929 in Huntington, W Va., daughter of the late Percival â€śRedâ€ť and Alice Mooring Powell.
She was a graduate of Huntington High School, Class of 1947, and attended Marshall University and Cedarville College. She had been a resident of the area since 1966.
In 1958, in Huntington, W Va,. she married Richard L. Young, who survives.
Ethel Prout, 92, died on June 26, 2013 at her brother-in-law Jackâ€™s home outside Buffalo, N.Y.
She was born in Jamestown, N.Y. on March 18, 1921, daughter of the late Harry and Leora Stewart.
When she was a young girl, her family moved to Buffalo, N.Y. She met her husband-to-be, Dick, in church. They married while he was in pilot training during WWII. After the war they continued to live in Buffalo until job opportunities took the family to Lima, Ohio and then to St. Marys. They lived in St. Marys for nearly 40 years.
Benjamin "Ben" Imbrogno, 21, of 30 River Rd., New York, N.Y., died Saturday morning, July 6, 2013 at Elk Regional Health Center in St. Marys.
He was born October 6, 1991 in St. Vincent's Hospital in New York, N.Y., son of Richard C. and Naomi August Imbrogno.
He resided in New York City all his life. He graduated from New York City Museum School in 2009 and attended Brothers of Manhattan Community College.
Mary M. Swanson, 96, of Silver Creek Terrace and formerly of Dagus Mines, died Wednesday, July 3, 2013 in Bozeman, Mont.
She was born May 20, 1917 in Force, daughter of the late Alex and Lena Gornati Falcettoni.
On January 8, 1938 in Dagus Mines, she married Lyle L. Swanson, who preceded her in death on January 26, 2001.
Mrs. Swanson was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Kersey High School, Class of 1935. She was a member of the St. Boniface Church.
Seth Easton Gilbert, 12, of Reynoldsville, went home with the angels, Saturday, July 6, 2013 surrounded by his loving family.
He was born January 21, 2001, in DuBois, the son of Theodore J. and Cherie J. (Trude) Gilbert of Reynoldsville, who survive.
He loved to swim and play with his sisters, Brittany, Lexie and Isabel.
In addition to his parents, Ted and Cherie, he is survived by his sisters, Brittany and Isabel Gilbert and Lexie Trude, all of Reynoldsville; his maternal and paternal grandparents and great-grandparents; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Arlene M. (Blauser) Garbarino, age 61, passed away Sunday, July 7, 2013 at her home in Midway with her family at her side.
She was born April 12, 1952 in Ridgway, daughter of John and Jacqueline (Garity) Blauser of Ridgway.
Arlene enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, traveling to yard sales and flea markets, and also donated her time to the Midway Community Center, the Girl Scouts where she served as a leader, and to the Midway Fire Department.
Dorothy "Dottie" Gorman, 72, of Carlsbad, Calif., died July 4, 2013 at Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego, Calif. after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease.
She was born June 26, 1941 in Union City, N.J., the youngest daughter of the late Joseph and Helen Kau Gleason.
On April 24, 1965 at St. Veronica's Church in Howell, N.J. she married Patrick Gorman, who was born and raised in St. Marys. She and Patrick resided in Little Silver, N.J. for 34 years until 2002 when they retired to Carlsbad, Calif.
