Cecelia F. Spowal, age 74, of 5298 Ridgway-Johnsonburg Rd., Johnsonburg, died Friday afternoon, Sept. 20, 2013 at her residence following a short illness.
She was born on May 30, 1939 in Johnsonburg, daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret Addeo Marrone.
She Joseph F. Spowal Sr. on Nov. 21, 1970 in Johnsonburg. He died May 22, 2012.
She resided in Johnsonburg all her life.
She graduated from Johnsonburg High School in 1957 and then graduated from Ora Jean Beauty School in Erie.
Dorothy Carolyne Duke Gray Dollinger, 87, of 891 Shelvey Summit Rd., Ridgway, and formerly of Main Street, Kersey, died Thursday evening, Sept. 19, 2013, at her home following a lengthy illness.
She was born June 2, 1926 in Goshen, daughter of the late Daniel Duke and Ada Shovestul. She was a graduate of Clearfield High School, Class of 1944, and had been a resident of the area since 1944. She was a retired employee of Exotic Metals (Metaldyne).
David Carlyle Kirkland, age 81, of 12219 Shanley Hill, Hallton, died unexpectedly on Thursday, Sept. 19, 2013 at the DuBois Regional Medical Center.
He was born Feb.18, 1932, at the Shanley Homestead, Shanley Hill, Hallton, Pennsylvania, one of three children to Virginia Shanley and Claude Kirkland.
David married his beloved Frances J. Henry on Nov. 23, 1957, and they had been married for 56 years.
LeRoy J. Neubert, 70, of 86 Worral St., Wilcox, died on the morning of Thursday, Sept. 19, 2013 at his residence following a lengthy illness.
He was born on Dec. 15, 1942 in Benzinger, son of the late LeRoy E. and Anne Danko Neubert.
He married Doris Stewart on May 3, 1973 in St. Callistus Church in Kane, who survives.
Leroy resided in Wilcox all his life. He was a graduate of Johnsonburg High School in 1960.
William Howard Blankenship, 79, of Ludlow, died on Monday morning, Sept. 16, 2013, at the Warren General Hospital with his loving family singing praises by his side.
William, known to many as Bill, was born Sept. 18, 1933, to the late OrlaÂ and Carrie Morton Blankenship in Gauley Bridge, W. Va.Â He married his wife, Barbara Bragg, in 1952, in Gauley Bridge where the two of them began their life together.Â The couple made their move to Kinzua in 1959, then to Ludlow, where they finished raising their large family of 16.
Shirley Ann Klein, 77, of 417 Old Kersey Rd., Kersey, and formerly of Laurel Lane, Kersey, died Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013, at the UPMC Hamot Hospital in Erie after a lengthy illness.
She was born June 3, 1936 in Toby Valley, daughter of the late Angelo and Doris Blick Morelli. She was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Kersey High School, Class of 1955. She was a former employee of the Stackpole Corporation and worked 25 years at Pinecrest Manor as the assistant activities director.
Jean M. Parmigiani, 74, formerly of 122 Center St. , St. Marys, died in the early morning of Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013 at Elk Haven Nursing Home.
She was born April 15, 1939 in Ridgway, daughter of the late Joseph and Angela (Agosti) Parmigiani.
She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Kersey. She had been employed by Stackpole Carbon for 28 years.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two aunts and one uncle.
George S. Cherry, 91, of 1826 Bendigo Rd., Johnsonburg, died the morning of Sept. 10, 2013 following a short illness at Scottish Pines Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Laurinburg, N.C.
He was born on Oct. 23, 1921 in Johnsonburg, the son of the late John and Anna Dellaquila Cherry.
He married Mary Chupa on Jan. 12, 1946 in Holy Rosary Church in Johnsonburg. She died March 26, 2012.
Gordon William Stewart, 68, of Chapel Hill, N.C., beloved husband of Elaine (Godzyk) Stewart, died Wednesday morning, Sept. 11, 2013, at home.
Born in Lynn, Mass., he was the son of the late Daniel (Neil) and Evelyn (Campbell) Stewart. Gordon was raised and educated in Lynn, and is an Army veteran.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed for 35 years as a Production Foreman at Sylvania Lighting, first with GTE on Loring Avenue in Salem, Mass., then with Osram in St. Marys.
Geraldine C. DeLoge, 92, a resident of Pinecrest Manor and formerly of 132 Random Rd., Chapel Village, St. Marys, died early Thursday morning, Sept. 12, 2013 at the Pinecrest Manor after a lengthy illness.
She was born Nov. 30, 1920, in Detroit, Mich., daughter of the late Albert and Mae LaFeve Zielan. On March 23, 1940, in St. Barbara's Church in Dearborn, Mich., she married Archie A. DeLoge who preceded her in death on Sept. 21, 1990.
