Mary Jo Burï¬eld, 67, of Jefferson Manor, Brookville, and formerly of St. Marys died on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at the Clarion Hospital in Clarion following a lengthy illness.
She was born October 8, 1945 in St. Marys, a daughter of the late Ambrose and Bertha Brem Schreiber.
On October 11, 1969, she married the late David Burï¬eld, who preceded her in death on February 14, 2000.
Mrs. Burï¬eld was a member of St. Mary's Church. She graduated from St. Marys Area High School and had been employed by First Laurel Bank and Sylvania. She enjoyed her pets, especially her dog, Billy.

Sarah T. Nappe, 90. of 17 Penn Ave., Ridgway, died Wednesday, May 1, 2013.
She was born January 21, 1923, in Brockway, the daughter of the late Ben and Sara Bonavita Aquilino.
On June 7, 1947, she married Alfonso M. Nappe, he preceded her in death on July 6, 2009.
Mrs. Nappe was a long time Ridgway resident. She was a member of St. Leo’s Catholic Church., C.D. of A. and the Contessa Lodge of the Sons of Italy. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking and reading. She also enjoyed her family and friends, especially the extended family of Sam and Rose Delhunty.
James G. Moorhouse, 77 of Treasure Lake, DuBois, died Thursday, May 2, 2013 at Nelson’s Golden Years.
He was born on May 21, 1935, son of the late James E. and Carrie M. (Gunsallus) Moorhouse.
On July 8, 1961, he married Irene H. (Kentoski) Moorhouse. She preceded him in death on June 1, 1999.
Mr. Moorhouse was a veteran the United States Army having served as a Military Policeman.
Alfred N. “Al†Dempsey, 61, of 453 Toby Road, Kersey, died Wednesday evening, May 1, 2013, at his home after a lengthy illness.
He was born October 29, 1951 in Franklin, son of the late Alfred and Alice “Lettie Jean†Neal Dempsey.
On September 2, 1972 in the St. Mary’s Church in Reynoldsville, he married Bonnie J. Pegnetter, who survives.
Mr. Dempsey had been a resident of the area since 1975. He was a graduate of Punxsutawney High School, Class of 1971 and graduated from Vo Tech in Reynoldsville in 1971. He was an employee of SGL in St. Marys for 33 years.
Margaret A. Bonfardine, 73, of 148 Louis Street, St. Marys, died Thursday, May 2, 2013, at her residence after a lengthy illness.
She was born August 10, 1939, in St. Marys, daughter of the late Alcuin J. "Doc" and Charlotte Myers Dornisch.
On October 31, 1959, in the Sacred Heart Church, she married Gelindo "Boots" Bonfardine and he survives.

Mary C. Smith, 99, of 560 Chestnut St., St. Marys died Tuesday evening, April 30, 2013, at the Elk Regional Health Center after a brief illness.
She was born May 23, 1913 in St. Marys, daughter of the late Clement and Mary Buchheit Meyer. On June 26, 1934, in the St. Mary's Church, she married Arnold J. Smith who preceded her in death in 1976.
Paul R. McCluskey, 64, of Monroe Street, Byrnedale, died at home on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 following a lengthy illness.
He was born on March 7, 1949 in Byrnedale, son of the late William J. Sr. and Lena (Pirazzi) McCluskey and lived his entire life in Byrnedale.
He was a member of the last graduating class of Bennetts Valley High School and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He served in the U.S. Marines during Vietnam. He worked at Stackpole Carbon.
April 29th
Betty Joan Pounds Gagliardi, 76, of Nitrate Street, Tyler, died at home on Saturday, April 27, 2013 after a lengthy illness.
She was born January 31, 1937 in Irvona, daughter of the late Edward Harper and Drucilla (Isenburg) Pounds.
On April 24, 1956 she married Dominick Gagliardi, and he preceded her in death on May 23, 1974. Â
A housewife, she has been a Bennetts Valley resident since 1950. She enjoyed crocheting and especially her grandchildren.
April 28th
Norma E. Bower, 87, of Brockway, died April 25, 2013 at DuBois Regional Medical Center.
She was born April 22, 1926 in Brockport, daughter of the late Jacob and Laura Yale Himes.
She married John E. Bower, and he preceded her in death on February 23, 1987.
She was a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Brockway. Over the years she had been employed at the G.C. Murphy Co. in St. Marys and also at Stackpole Carbon. She was also a homemaker.
April 24th
Earl W. Gaffey, 89, of 157 Larch Road, St. Marys, died surrounded by his family on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at his home after a brief illness.
He was born March 23, 1924 in St. Marys, son of the late Thomas V. and Anna Deth Gaffey.
On June 28, 1957 in the Queen of the World Church he married Hazel Meyer, and she preceded him in death on January 9, 2009.
