Mary E. Harlan

Mary E. Harlan, 91, a 20-year Sierra Vista resident, died on March 17, 2013 at Golden Oaks Ranch.
She was born June 11, 1921 in St. Marys.
She graduated high school in 1938.
On July 11, 1942 she married Thomas T. Harlan, and he preceded her in death.
She followed her Army husband for 32 1/2 years and they moved to Sierra Vista in 1993. She was a wonderful Army wife, mother, and grandmother.

Anthony “Tony” D. Georgino

Anthony “Tony” D. Georgino, 65, of DuBois, and formerly of Tyler, died Monday, April 15, 2013 at the DuBois Regional Medical Center.
Born on February 25, 1948 in DuBois, he was the son of the late Patsy and Jennie (Guido) Georgino.
He graduated from DuBois Area High School and attended Kiski Prep and the Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He was one of the former owners of Georgino Industrial Supply, where he worked all of his life.

Keith L. Hadfield

Keith L. Hadfield, 50, of 113 Welsh Street, Kane, died suddenly on Sunday, April 14, 2013 at UPMC Hamot in Erie.
Born November 8, 1962, in Kane, he was a son of Marilyn Geer Hadfield and the late Keith Hadfield. 
On December 14, 1990, in Kane, he married Lanette Paul, who survives.
He was employed at Graftech and prior to that had worked for the Local 603 and Osram-Sylvania. He had served in the U.S. Marines, attaining the rank of Corporal.

Rose Marie Smith

Rose Marie Smith, 90, died Monday, April 15, 2013, five days short of her 91st birthday, at her home near Renovo.
She was born April 20, 1922, the youngest child of the late Jacob Kingsley and Emma (Smyers) Beck on Gardner Hill, Weedville.
She married Leonard J. Smith August 23, 1948; he preceded her in dead in October, 1990.
She lived most of her life on Gardner Hill in Weedville and also lived in Emporium, Warren, DuBois, Gettysburg, Emlenton, Milroy and the last five years in Renovo. She graduated from the Jay Township High School in 1940.

Robert “Poopsy” Peters

Robert “Poopsy” Peters, 74, Mercer Street, Wilcox, died at home on Wednesday, April 10, 2013, after a short illness.
He was born May 17, 1938 in St. Marys, the son of the late George and Helen (McAlee) Peters.
He married Margaret "Maggie" (Zelt) and she preceded him in death in 2006.
He lived in Johnsonburg most of his life and was a graduate of Johnsonburg High School. He worked with the Johnsonburg Borough for 28 years and was a member of Holy Rosary Church and Central Hose Company. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Gregory L. Chicola

Gregory L. Chicola, 58, of 739 Brandy Camp Road, Kersey, died Saturday, April 13, 2013, at his residence as a result of ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease).
He was born February 27, 1955 in Clearfield, son of the late Steve and Marian Rachocki Chicola.
He was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of St. Marys High School. He was a former employee of Industrial Steel.
Mr. Chicola served in the Army Reserves, enjoyed westerns, road hunting, cooking, swimming, enjoyed his guns and repairing guns and cars, woodworking, loved his dog Rascal, and enjoyed being with his family.

James Earl Bennett

James Earl Bennett, 78, of Ridgway, died Thursday, April 11, 2013 at Hamot Medical Center in Erie.
He was born August 7, 1934 in Punxsutawney, a son of the late James Robert and Ella Grace (McQuown) Bennett.
On June 15, 1957 he married the former Diane Dunmire, and she survives.
Mr. Bennett worked at Airco Carbon in St. Marys and Punxsutawney. He served in the United States Army after the Korean Conflict. He loved the outdoors, fishing, camping.

Frances M. "Mabel" Weichman

Frances M. "Mabel" Weichman, 88, a resident of Elk Haven Nursing Home and formerly of 929 Windfall Road, St. Marys, died peacefully on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at Elk Haven Nursing Home following a brief illness.
She was born October 4, 1924 in St. Marys, a daughter of the late Bernard and Mabel Rippy Fritz.
On February 12, 1942 in St. Mary's Church, she married the late Francis J. Weichman, who preceded her in death on October 25, 1982.

Rose Rippy

Rose Rippy, 86, of 1513 Thorpe Street, New Castle, formerly of 420 Fourth Ave., Johnsonburg, died Wednesday evening, April 10, 2013, at the residence of her daughter, Mary Ann Wright, following a lengthy illness.
She was born January 1, 1927 in St. Marys, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Feldbauer Uhl.
On July 2, 1949 she married Francis J. "Jude" Rippy, and he preceded her in death December 27, 1995.

Agnes M. Calla

Agnes M. Calla, 95, of 230 Beech Street, Johnsonburg, died Tuesday evening, April 9, 2013 at her residence following a lengthy illness.
She was born October 10, 1917 in Rasselas, daughter of the late Peter and Leona Markert Myers.
On June 8, 1943 she married Ferdinand "Fred" Calla, and he preceded her in death May 11, 1999.
Formerly of Rasselas, she resided in Johnsonburg most of her life. She graduated from Wilcox High School and was a member of Holy Rosary Church. She had worked at Stackpole Carbon Co. and the Ridgway Hospital.
