April 9th
Bonita R. Zelt, 91, of 361 Kaul Avenue, St. Marys, died Monday, April 8, 2013, at her home.
She was born August 23, 1921 in Ramseytown, daughter of the late James W. and Dora DeSmith Fleming. On October 12, 1961 in the Queen of the World Church, she married Joseph O. Zelt, who preceded her in death on November 13, 1998.
James G. Kosick, 64, of 25926 Lake City Road, Ridgway, died unexpectedly Tuesday morning April 9, 2013 at his residence.
He was born July 2, 1948 in St. Marys, son of Betty J. (Sullivan) Kosick and the late Joseph J. Kosick.
He married Donna M. Skok on April 1, 2005. She survives.
Mr. Kosick had lived in Ridgway all of his life and was a member of St. Leo Catholic Church. He was a 1966 graduate of Ridgway High School. He had been employed by Lusko Plating and was the owner/operator of JK Transport.
Joyce Gayle Holjencin, 70, formerly of Emporium, died Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Sena-Kean Manor in Smethport.
She was born May 13, 1942, in Crosscreek, the daughter of the late Everett and Ruth Orrick.Â
On June 2, 1960, in Coalport, she married Thomas Holjencin, who preceded her in death on August 24, 2006.
April 8th
Donna Rae McGill, 68, of Willow Street, Johnsonburg, died early Monday, April 8, 2013 at home following a lengthy illness.
She was born Jan. 3, 1945 in Ridgway daughter of the late Raymond and Florence (Rosetto) Blashock. She married James McGill on June 25, 1967, he survives.
April 7th
Monsignor John B. Hagerty, well known, well respected and a highly esteemed priest of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Erie, died early Saturday morning, April 6, 2013 at Saint Mary Home at Asbury Ridge, Erie.
Monsignor Hagerty was born in Erie on January 1, 1930, the son of the late Bert and Olive Thompson Hagerty.
Pamela Leathers Bogan, 59, died unexpectedly at her home in Pittsburgh on Saturday, March 16, 2013.
A daughter of the late Armand and Viola Thomas Leathers, she was a graduate of Ridgway Area High School and recently an employee of Allied Barton Security Services at Point Park College.
She is survived by a sister, Doretta Leathers, of Blairsville; an aunt and uncle, Dr. and Mrs. John Leathers of State College; and by numerous cousins.
She will be sadly missed by family and friends.
Louis L. Gerhart, 87, of Folino Drive, Wilcox, died Sunday, April 7, 2013 at Elk Regional Health Center after a lengthy illness.
He was born December 18, 1925 in Kane, son of the late Louis L. and Sarah (Heasley) Gerhart, Sr.
On January 28, 1950 he married Elizabeth J. “Betty” Raubenstrauch, and she survives.
Born and raised in Kane, he lived in Johnsonburg from 1950-54, the DuBois area from 1954-97 and has been a Wilcox resident since 1997. He was a graduate of Kane High School.
April 5th
Dolores Louise Michelini Dillman, 81, of North Huntingdon, died Wednesday April 3, 2013, at Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital.
She was born June 12, 1931, in Force, a daughter of Guido and Tosca Cenni Michelini.
Dolores was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in North Huntingdon. She was a member of their Christian Mothers, funeral choir and Catholic Daughters of America. She was also a member of the Irwin Garden Club and volunteered at the Norwin Public Library.
April 4th
Rose A. Garbic, 97, of 112 Catalina Road, and formerly of 304 Depot Street, St. Marys, died on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at Elk Regional Health Center, following a short illness.
She was born November 22, 1915 in Brooklyn, New York a daughter of the late Ottavio and Carmela Trio Cornelio.
On June 20, 1942 in Sacred Heart Church, she married the late George M. Garbic, who preceded her in death on April 7, 1993.
Violet E. Breakey, 86, of Elk Haven Nursing Home in St. Marys died on Wednesday evening, April 3, 2013 at Elk Haven following a lengthy illness.
She was born on October 19, 1915 in Ridgway to Swedish immigrants Otto and Lilly Larson Magnuson.
She married Donald M. Breakey in September of 1956. He died in 1965.
