Pearle A. Meredith, 94, of 1274 Montmorenci Rd., died Monday, Feb. 17, 2014 at Elk Regional Health Center.
She was born Dec. 13, 1919, in Ridgway, daughter of the late Charles and Selma Nelson Holm. On June 22, 1945, she married Glenn R. Meredith who preceded her in death on Feb. 1, 1995.
Gloria M. Bushey, 83, of 198 Shady Dr., Ridgway, died Monday morning, Feb. 17, 2014, at the Kane Community Hospital following a lengthy illness.
She was born Aug. 21, 1930, in Johnsonburg, daughter of the late Floyd F. and Jennie E. (Shaffer) Hunt.
She married Lewis Donald Bushey on June 3, 1953, and he survives.
She had resided in Ridgway since 1953 and was a former Johnsonburg resident. She was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Church Women's Group. She had been employed by Stackpole Carbon Co. for six years and by Brody's for three years.
Karl R. Bjorkquist, 60, of 302 Madison Ave., Ridgway, died unexpectedly Monday morning, Feb. 17, 2014 at Elk Regional Health Center.
He was born April 7, 1953 in Ridgway, son of the late Robert W. and Helen R. (Knouse) Bjorkquist. On Oct. 3, 1981, he married Theresa M. Caggeso who survives.
Twila Coral (Smith) Anderson, 84, of Penfield, died Sunday, Feb. 16, 2014 at the Elk Regional Health Center after a short illness.
She was born Aug. 27, 1929 in Scattertown, daughter of the late George R. Smith Jr. and Rebecca D. (Silvis) Smith. On July 21, 1951, she married Robert P. Anderson Sr. who preceded her in death on Jan. 23, 1990.
Twila was a homemaker who graduated from Huston Township High School in 1948.
Earl J. Keller, 77, of 146 Rambler Rd., St. Marys, died Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, at his residence after a lengthy illness.
He was born Dec. 28, 1936, in St. Marys, son of the late John and Ellen Pavlock Keller. On June 8, 1968, in the St. Boniface Church, he married Donna Copella and she survives.
Mr. Keller was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, Class of 1955. He was a former employee of the Stackpole Carbon Co. and retired from Carbone of America. He was a member of the Queen of the World Church and had served in the U.S. Army.
Dorothy J. Curley, 82, of the Colorado Lutheran Home in Arvada, Colo., and formerly of Kersey, died on Monday, Feb. 10, 2014, at Colorado Lutheran Home following a battle with cancer and Alzheimer's Disease.
She was born on Aug. 14, 1931 in DuBois, the daughter of the late Henry and Leona Braund Boring.
On Aug. 1, 1952, she married Richard J. Curley, who preceded her in death on April 14, 1997.
Michael Joseph Pfeufer, 70 of 518 Rock St., St. Marys, died on Thursday evening, Feb. 13, 2014, at Elk Regional Health Center in St. Marys.
He was born on Dec. 16, 1943 in Springville, N.Y., a son of the late Joseph and Edna A. Johnson Pfeufer.
Mike attended schools in Punxsutawney and St. Marys, and retired from Airco-Speer after many years of service.Â He enjoyed working at home, listening to WKBI radio and watching TV.
He is survived by one brother, Donald Pfeufer of St. Marys, and a niece, Coleen Pfeufer and her husband Lindsay Carroll of Charlotte, N.C.
Bernard J. â€śSonnyâ€ť Greenthaner, 94, of 1716 Bucktail Trail, St. Marys, died Sunday, Feb. 9, 2014, at the Elk Regional Health Center after a brief illness.
He was born Sept. 4, 1919 in Cadogan, son of the late Fred and Mary Kurzinger Greenthaner. He was a lifelong resident of the area and attended schools in Cadogan. He was a retired employee of Modern Dairy.
On June 20, 1946, he married Helen Nagy who preceded him in death in January 2006.
Mr. Greenthaner was a member of the Queen of the World Church. He enjoyed gardening and was an avid Pittsburgh Pirate fan.
Edmund Frayne Adamson Sr., 88, died Monday, Feb. 3, 2014 at the Communities at Indiana Haven.
He was born July 21, 1925 in Washington Township, Indiana County, son of George Edward and Molly Lillie (Jewart) Adamson.
Surviving is his grandson, Thomas Steis and his mother, Sherry Steis, both of Johnsonburg; a brother, Gerald E. Adamson and his wife Virginia â€śJeanâ€ť Adamson of Homer City; two great-grandsons, Jordan Frayne Earl Steis and Kody Ray Steis; and many nieces and nephews.
Helen R. Feile, 99, of 453 North Michael Street, St. Marys, died Sunday, Feb. 9, 2014, at the Pinecrest Manor after a brief illness.
She was born Nov. 15, 1914 in St. Marys, daughter of the late Francis and Theresa Gabler Robinson. On Dec. 31, 1941 in the St. Maryâ€™s Church, she married Evard F. â€śEvâ€ť Feile, who preceded her in death on Nov. 17, 1988.
She was a lifelong resident of the area and attended St. Marys schools. She was a former employee of Sylvania.
