Emma M. McAninch

Emma M. McAninch, 80, of 3638 Wilcox Rd., Johnsonburg, died Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at Penn Highlands Elk, St. Marys, following a lengthy illness.
She was born Nov. 7, 1933 in Hallton, daughter of the late Francis and Theodora Baughman Rhines.
On July 17, 1953, she married Charles W. "Bill" McAninch. He survives.
She resided in Johnsonburg most of her life and attended school in Hallton.
She was a member of the Johnsonburg United Methodist Church, and loved to crochet and spend time with her family

Donna J. Mahoney

Donna J. Mahoney, 83, of Ridgmont Assisted Living Facility, Ridgway, formerly of 207 Willow St., Johnsonburg, died early Wednesday morning, April 30, 2014 at Ridgmont Assisted Living Facility, Ridgway, following a lengthy illness.
She was born April 16, 1931 in Johnsonburg, daughter of the late Albert E. and Thelma E. Smith Fulton.
On Dec. 30, 1950, she married Joseph C. Mahoney. He preceded her in death on Feb. 1, 1994.

Richard A. "Dick" Cherry

Richard A. "Dick" Cherry, 83, died Monday, April 28, 2014 at the Kane Community Hospital, with his loving daughter Karen by his side. 
Dick was born May 2, 1930, in Johnsonburg, the son of the late Patsy and Theresa (Steinbach) Cherry.
Dick married the love of his life, Pearl Bean, on Sept. 27, 1951. She survives.

Norma Jean Reider

Norma Jean Reider of Kingston, Mass. died on Thursday, April 17, 2014 after a brief illness at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston, Mass. She was attended by her immediate family.
Mrs. Reider was a longtime resident of St. Marys, and an active member of the Queen of the World Church. She was employed by the Sears & Roebuck Company as the credit manager of their St. Marys retail operations and, in retirement, was active as a member and officer of the St. Marys Senior Center. She moved to Kingston, Mass. to be close to her immediate family.

Robert J. “Red” Meholic Sr.

Robert J. “Red” Meholic Sr., 84, a resident of Christ the King Manor in DuBois and formerly of 692 Washington St., St. Marys, died Tuesday morning, April 29, 2014, at Christ the King Manor after a lengthy illness.
He was born Feb. 27, 1930 in Martinsburg, N.Y., son of the late John and Frances Knouse Meholic. On July 26, 1952 in St. Marys, he married Doris Roth who preceded him in death on June 10, 1989.

Anthony A. "Tony" McGill

Anthony A. "Tony" McGill, 68, of 384 Rightmeyer St., St. Marys, died on Sunday, April 27, 2014 at Penn Highlands Elk in St. Marys.
He was born Feb. 18, 1946 in St. Marys, a son of the late Aloysious McGill and the late Mary Piccolo McGill Reed.
On May 31, 1975, he married Marie Caggiano McGill, who survives.

Richard M. Johnson

Richard M. Johnson, 83, formerly of 259 Monterey Ave., Ridgway, died Monday morning, April 28, 2014 at Penn Highlands Elk following a brief illness. He was born Sept. 27, 1930 in Ridgway, son of the late Arthur R. and Thelma M. (Layberger) Johnson. He was married to Shirley A. Leuschel, who preceded him in death on March 21, 1991.
He resided in Ridgway all his life and was a graduate of the Ridgway High School. He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church. He had served in the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of the Korean War. He had been employed by Keystone Carbon for 30 years.

Reverend Donald J. Parson

Reverend Donald J. Parson, 74, of Oakland, died Friday, April 25, 2014 at his home, the rectory of St. Peter the Apostle Church in Oakland. 
Born Oct. 12, 1939 in St. Marys, he was the son of the late Harvey Emerson and Josephine Irene (Sosmiski) Parson.
Prior to entering the priesthood, Father Parson had served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War, worked for a management consulting firm in Pittsburgh and had been a former member of the Order of the Clowns. He had also been a member of the Knights of Columbus for over 50 years.

Bernadine (Brown) Pane

Bernadine (Brown) Pane, 88, of Tyler, and recently of DuBois Nursing Home, died late Saturday, April 26, 2014 at the DuBois Nursing Home.
She was born June 30, 1925 in Baumertown, daughter of the late John and Emma (Levenduski) Brown.
She married John Pane in 1946, he preceded her in death July 7, 1998.
She retired from Sylvania after 38 years. She enjoyed gardening and baking, and lived most of her life in Tyler.
She is survived by a son, Dennis (Miriam) Pane of Penfield; and two grandchildren.
