Mary Virginia “Ginny” (Cochrane) Caldwell

Mary Virginia “Ginny” (Cochrane) Caldwell, 74, of Roanoke Rapids, N.C. died Saturday, May 24, 2014 at Halifax Regional Medical in Roanoke Rapids after an illness of the past several months.
She was born in Clearfield on Sept. 7, 1939 to the late Harry and Mary (Shannon) Cochrane.
In 1947 the family moved to St. Mary where Ginny attended the Sacred Heart Grade School and graduated from the St. Marys Central High School in 1957.
In 1958 she married Alfred Caldwell of Johnsonburg who preceded her in death.

Luke G. Zitzler

Luke G. Zitzler, 83, died after lunch on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at Elk Haven. He was a lifelong resident of Vine Road in St. Marys.
He was born July 12, 1930 in St. Marys, son of Joseph and Leona (Hallermeyer) Ziztler. He married Mary Grace Schlimm, who survives, on Aug. 21, 1954.

Jude R. Gleixner, 82, of 375 Krug Ln., died peacefully surrounded by his loving wife and children on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 after a lengthy illness.

Shirley Nachtway Krieg

May 28, 2014

Shirley Nachtway Krieg, 84 of Naples, Fla., died on May 22, 2014.
Born in St. Marys to the late Fred and Fidelis (Hoehn) Nachtway, Shirley was a proud graduate of St. Marys Catholic Central High School in 1947.
She was a longtime member of St. Mark Catholic Church of Emporium, and St. Leo’s Catholic Church of Bonita Springs, Fla.
Shirley was also a florist and office manager, but her most cherished role was being a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

William J. Bankovic, 90, a resident of Elk Haven and formerly of Pittsburgh, died Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at Elk Haven after a lengthy illness.
He was born May 6, 1924 in St. Marys, son of the late Walter and Eva Frkonja Bankovic. He was married to Elaine Mains of Pittsburgh.

Rena I. "Joy" Gleixner

Rena I. "Joy" Gleixner, 87, a resident of Elk Haven Nursing Home and formerly of Cedar Road, St. Marys, died on Friday, May 23, 2014 following a lengthy illness.
She was born on April 5, 1927, a daughter of the late Vere and Jennifer Knarr Swesey.
On June 15, 1950 in Emporium, she married Edward L. Gleixner Sr., who preceded her in death on May 15, 2010.
Joy was a graduate of Emporium High School and a member of Sacred Heart Church. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and crocheting. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Patricia A. Fuenffinger, 78, a resident of Guy & Mary Felt Manor, and formerly of 170 Meadow Rd., Emporium, died on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at Guy & Mary Felt Manor following a lengthy illness.
She was born Oct. 27, 1935, a daughter of the late Elisha and Anna Naring Bush .
On Saturday, Aug. 20, 1955 in St. Marys Church, she married Robert Fuenffinger, who survives.

Richard E. "Lardy" Friedl

Richard E. "Lardy" Friedl, 84, of 104 West Theresia Rd., St. Marys, died on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh following injuries suffered from a car accident.
He was born on Dec. 24, 1929, a son of the late Frank and Clara Zwack Friedl.

Timothy John Sorg, 63, of Oak Manor One, died peacefully on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at Penn Highlands Elk after a brief illness.
He was born Nov. 28, 1950 in St. Marys, son of the late Leonard George and Rita Krellner Sorg. He was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Our Lady Special School in the St. Joseph’s Monastery.

He was born Nov. 23, 1978, and graduated from St. Marys Area High School.
