James A. Glatt, 57, of Little Ave., Ridgway, died early Tuesday morning, Sept. 2, 2014 at home after a lengthy illness.
He was born July 24, 1957 in St. Marys, son of Andrew G. and Rosalie Mae (Dorio) Glatt.
He married Shirley (Fink) on Nov. 9, 2001, she survives.
Ann L. Sloan, 79, of 1890 Bucktail Road, St. Marys, died on Sunday, Aug. 31, 2014 at her home following an illness of the past several months.
She was born on Jan. 12, 1935, a daughter of the late Sigmund and Theresa Floravit Leviski.
Ann was a member of Sacred Heart Church and retired from Sylvania after more than 38 years of service.Â She enjoyed animals, especially her dogs.Â Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her nieces and nephews.
Rose Marie Szymanski, 73, of Jarrett Street, Wilcox died Monday, Sept. 1, 2014 at home after a lengthy illness.
She was born Oct. 1, 1940 in Glen Hazel, daughter of the late Andrew & Helen (Bodistow) Zimmerman. On May 16, 1964, she married Walter F. Szymanski, who preceded her death on June 11, 2003.
Wayne C. Brechtel, 65, of 159 Terra Cotta, Johnsonburg, died Aug. 31, 2014 at his residence following a brief illness.
He was born March 14, 1949 in Ridgway, son of Eugene R. "Gene" and Catherine J. Rezmerski Brechtel.
He resided in Johnsonburg for the past 14 years and formerly resided in Cocoa Beach, Fla., Frostburg, Md. He was a graduate of Johnsonburg High School, class of 1967. He was a member of Holy Rosary Church, Central Hose Co., and served in the Pa. National Guard. He had played AAA baseball in the Houston Astros Farm System. He loved to play cards.
Alice A. "Allie" Wortman, 95, of Silver Creek Terrace and formerly of 523 S. St. Marys St., St. Marys, died Friday, Aug. 29, 2014 at Silver Creek Terrace.
She was born Oct. 17, 1918 in St. Marys, daughter of the late George and Josephine Zwack Wortman.
She was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, class of 1936.
Josephine Z. â€śYuzieâ€ť Visneski, 84, of Scattertown, died Sunday, August 31, 2014 at the DuBois Nursing Home after a lengthy illness.
She was born on July 7, 1930 in DuBois, daughter of the late Anthony and Veronica (Lutkavich) Zukauskus.
She married Edward C. Visneski, Sr. on March 1, 1949. He preceded her in death on May 26, 1997.
She was born and raised in DuBois and has been a Bennetts Valley resident since 1949.
Mrs. Visneski worked at Sylvania for 42 years.Â She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church and enjoyed her time with her family.
Anthony â€śTonyâ€ť Scutella, 94, of 344 Grant St., St. Marys, died on Thursday, Aug. 28, 2014, at the Pinecrest Manor after an illness of the past several months.
He was born December 25, 1919 in Calabria, Italy, son of the late Pasquale and Maria Caminiti Scutella. In 1947, he married Lena Joan Barbera, who preceded him in death on October 30, 1958. On June 14, 1978 in the Sacred Heart Church, he married Jane Pearsall Fedorko, who survives.
Louis Richard â€śGigiâ€ť Notarianni, 81, of Powers Avenue, Johnsonburg, died Monday, Aug. 25, 2014 at Pinecrest Manor after a short illness.
He was born Sept. 8, 1932 in Johnsonburg, son of the late Victor and Jean (Victor) Notarianni.
Mr. Notarianni married Carol Catherine (Baum) on April 20, 1963 in Holy Rosary Church. She preceded him in death on Nov. 24, 2006.
Following his Johnsonburg High School graduation he continued his education for four years at Gannon University.
Paul J. Cunningham, 83, of 1116 South Michael Rd., St. Marys, died on Monday, Aug. 25, 2014 at UPMC Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh following a brief illness.
He was born on December 11, 1930, a son of the late John and Ida Friedl Cunningham.
On August 4, 1950 in St. Mary's Church, he married Ruth Schatz Cunningham, who survives.
Nancy Bille Bleggi, 58, of Gaithersburg, Md., died on Aug. 23, 2014 in home hospice surrounded by her family and beloved dogs.
She was born in St. Marys to the late Richard and Betty Bille of Gypsy Road, and was married to Scott Bleggi, also a St. Marys native.
Nancy was a tireless advocate for improved educational and therapy services for the disabled in the Washington, DC metro area and overseas during her husband's foreign service assignments.
