Thelma Catherine "Pat" Bryington, 93, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all, of Gifford, died Saturday, April 12, 2014 at the Bradford Regional Medical Center.
Born Nov. 5, 1920 in St. Mary's she was a daughter of the late Frederick and Beatrice (Baumgratz) Loichinger. She was raised in Kane and attended Kane High School and worked at the Kane Shirt Factory.
On Feb. 2, 1946 at St. Callistus Church in Kane she married Harry A. Bryington, who died on Aug. 12, 1975.
Francis S. Lavella, 76, of Brockway, died Thursday, April 10, 2014 in Chandler, Ariz.
He was born Sept. 28, 1937 and raised in Crenshaw. He was the son of the late Frank and Melinda Lavella. He married Veronica Armanini on Sept. 26, 1959, and she survives. They celebrated 54 years of marriage.
Teresa M. â€śTessieâ€ť Schlimm, 86, a resident of Pinecrest Manor the past two years and formerly of 113 Gypsy Rd. (Highland Park) died Tuesday, April 8, 2014, at Pinecrest Manor.
She was born June 23, 1927 in St. Marys, daughter of the late Romayne E. and Mildred Bryndel Schaut. She was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, Class of 1945. She was a former employee of GTE Sylvania and also had worked as a home companion.
On Nov. 28, 1953 in the Sacred Heart Church, she married Charles G. Schlimm who preceded her in death on Jan. 13, 1976.
Deborah D. Moriarity, 49, of 372 Grant St., St. Marys, died Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at her home following a long battle with cancer.
She was born Dec. 29, 1964 in St. Marys, a daughter of the late Jerome and Mary Brown Moriarity.
Deb was a graduate of SMAHS and had been employed at Eastern Sintered Alloys, where she worked for more than 15 years.Â She enjoyed drawing, going for walks, and her pets. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her children.
Zachary Philip Perroz, 31, of Natrona Heights, died Monday, April 7, 2014, at his home.
He was born April 29, 1982, in Natrona Heights, a son of Alfred R. "Dick" (Janet) Perroz Jr. of St. Marys, and Carol (Craig) Pogue of Natrona Heights. Â
Zachary attended Highlands High School, graduated from the Newport Business School and also attended Community College of Allegheny County. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and dancing.
Nancy L. Heiberger, 72, of 120 Homestead Rd., Kersey, died Tuesday, April 8, 2014.
She was born May 20, 1941 in St. Marys, daughter of the late Edward F. and Anna Young Kunsch. On April 23, 1960 in the Sacred Heart Church, she married John C. â€śJackâ€ť Heiberger, who preceded her in death on April 7, 2001.
She was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of St. Marys Public High School, Class of 1959. She had worked as a nurseâ€™s aide for the Elk Haven Nursing Home.
Eileen B. Fletcher, 89, of Fryburg, died Sunday, April 6, 2014 at her home.
She was born Feb. 8, 1925 in Strobleton, the daughter of Harry E. and Barbara S. Hartle Eisenman. On March 5, 1946, she was married to Paul J. Fletcher who preceded her in death on Jan. 5, 1986.
Norbert A. â€śNorbâ€ť Arnold, 93, of 648 Cedar Rd., St. Marys, died Friday, April 4, 2014, at his home following a brief illness.
He was born Dec. 30, 1920 in St. Marys, son of the late Nickolaus and Margaret Ortlauf Arnold. He was a member of the Queen of the World Church and remained devoted to his faith until death.
Norb lived a full life; having been blessed with two beautiful and loving wives. On May 21, 1949, he married Dolores Mary Schneider. She preceded him in death on July 9, 1980. On Oct. 16, 1982, he wedded Grace Erich Bucher. She survives.
Michael Samuel â€śMikeâ€ť DeStephano, 54, of 325 Washington St., St. Marys, died unexpectedly Friday, April 4, 2014, at his home.
Olive Mae Spang, 94, Weedville, died Saturday, April 5, 2014 at Elk Haven Nursing Home after a short illness.
Olive was born Jan. 13, 1920 in Caledonia, daughter of the late Exper and Frances Doyle Youngmark.
Olive was a 1937 graduate of Weedville High School. She had cooked at Little Skipper Restaurant, worked at Echo Glenn Egg farm, and was a care giver for many years. She was also a Member of Caledonia United Methodist Church and a charter member of the Weedville American Legion Auxiliary.
