Earl Dennis Crosby, 78, of Pine, Ariz., and formerly of St. Marys, died in the early morning of Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2014 in Payson Regional Medical Center in Arizona after recurring health complications caused his heart to stop.
Dennis, as he was known to his friends, moved to Pine, Ariz. two and half years ago with his sister from Colorado. He was born July 6, 1936 in Warren and lived in St. Marys where he went to school at Sacred Heart Catholic Elementary School and Central Catholic High School. After graduation, his family moved to North Olmsted (Cleveland), Ohio.
John H. Clark, 60, of 105 Darr St., St. Marys, died peacefully at his home Friday, Nov. 21, 2014.
He was born Jan. 30, 1954, a son of the late Robert and Margaret McDonald Clark.
John was a graduate of Ridgway Area High School, Class of 1972, and a veteran of the U.S. Army having served from 1974-1976. He was a member of the CMF and had been employed at St. Marys Carbon Company for more than 40 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Joseph Bleggi, 76, of Grapevine, Texas, formerly of Weedville, had returned to the valley last week, his home place, to attend the funeral of his nephew, when he died unexpectedly Thursday, Nov. 20, 2014 in Penfield.
He was born May 24, 1938 in Weedville, son of the late Albino and Gisella â€śHazelâ€ť (Michelini) Bleggi. He first married Judy (Carpin) Bleggi who preceded him in death in 1988. He later married Linn (Wilson) Bleggi who survives and lives in Texas.
Dorothy M. "Patty" Kronenwetter, 90, of 463 Maple St., St. Marys, died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2014 at Elk Haven Nursing Home.
She was born May 22, 1924, a daughter of the late Herbert and Anna Kronenwetter Lion.
On July 19, 1950Â in St. Marys, she married Cyril Kronenwetter, who preceded her in death in 1979.
Margaret â€śPeggyâ€ť Riley Abplanalp, 88, of Bridge Street Johnsonburg, died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2014, surrounded by all three of her children at the home of her daughter, Mary Costanzo, in Ridgway.
She was born June 18, 1926 in Johnsonburg, daughter of the late Leon and Eleanor Donnelly Riley.
She attended Holy Rosary School, Johnsonburg High School Class of 1944, and St. Johns (Pittsburgh) Nursing Program.
Peggy was married to Lester â€śTappyâ€ť Abplanalp on Dec. 27, 1952; he preceded her in death Sept. 22, 1960.
Loretta M. Kline, 94, a resident at Elk Haven Nursing Home in St. Marys, died Saturday, Nov. 15, 2014 at Elk Haven.
Loretta was born June 6, 1920 in Brandy Camp, daughter of the late Alfred and Myrtle Trumbull Ruth.
She was married to Theodore Kline, who died June 14, 1972.
Retired, Loretta had been employed at St. Marys Carbon. She was a lifelong member of the Brandy Camp United Methodist Church. Loretta enjoyed crocheting and needlework. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family, especially taking camping trips with her grandchildren.
Deborah A. Kronenwetter, 58, of 91 Wes Ln., St. Marys, died suddenly Sunday, Nov. 16, 2014 at her home.
She was born Nov. 2, 1956, a daughter of Richard Johnston and the late Helen Goodrow Johnston, who preceded her in death Jan. 26, 2010.
On April 8, 2006, she married David Kronenwetter, who survives.
Rose M. Sobierajski Haines, 85, of 122 Reserve Rd., St. Marys and formerly of Evers Avenue, died Saturday, Nov. 15 at Pinecrest Manor after a brief illness.
She was born Oct. 17, 1929 in St. Marys, daughter of the late Edward and Sabina Bauer Ehrensberger.
She was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, Class of 1947. She was an LPN and had worked doing private duty nursing and had also worked at the former Extended Care Facility.
She was a member of St. Mary's Church, loved to play bingo and enjoyed being with her children and grandchildren.
Glen F. Daniel,Â 64, of St. Marys, died Thursday afternoon, Nov. 13, 2014, surrounded by close friends and loved ones.
He was born Sept. 15, 1950 in St. Marys, a son of the late James and Eileen Hepner Daniel.
Glen graduated from Alford State College where he began his career as a high school biology teacher. The last 20 years, he worked as a chemist at Plum Borough Water Treatment Plant in Monroeville before his retirement.
He is survived by a brother, Kenneth (Rita) Daniel of St. Augustine, Fla.; a niece, Erin; and his longtime friend, Willa Amacher of St. Marys.
Dr. George A. Kunkel, 91, died peacefully Wednesday evening, Nov. 12, 2014.
He was born June 26, 1923 in Pittsburgh, one of six children to the late Frank and Agnes Nolan Kunkel.
Dr. Kunkel was a member of St. John the Evangelist RC Church. He enlisted in the United States Army at the beginning of World War II and was stationed for three years on the island of EspĂrito Santo in the South Pacific.
