Adam M. Wolfel, 23, ofÂ 126 Beech Rd., St. Marys, died suddenly Saturday, Dec. 13, 2014 at his home.Â Â
He was born Feb. 14, 1991 in St. Marys, a son of Michael and Jane Ritter Wolfel, who survive.
Robert John Tuberson, 85, died Saturday, Dec. 13, 2014.
He was born in St. Marys, raised in that city and in Ridgway, and was the son of the late Clarence and Edith Tuberson.
Bob was retired from the FBI as a special agent with 28 years service, in Washington, D.C., St. Louis, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Norfolk, Va.
After retirement from the FBI he served another 12 years as a special agent with the Bureau of Criminal Investigation, Virginia State Police, working in southeastern Virginia.
Larry L. Harlan, 72, of 101 Frey Rd., Kersey, died Thursday, Dec. 11, 2014 at his residence after a lengthy illness.
He was born March 4, 1942 in St. Marys, son of the late Aileen Harlan.
On May 22, 1971, in St. Marys, he married Mary Ann Frey, who survives.
He was a lifelong resident of the area and attended St. Marys Schools. He was a retired employee of SGL, retiring in 2001 after 32 years of service.
Mr. Harlan enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.
Bernard T. "Bernie" Gapinski, 86, of 407 High St., Johnsonburg, died Saturday morning, Dec. 13, 2014 at Elk Haven Nursing Home in St. Marys following a brief illness.
He was born May 27, 1928 in Johnsonburg, son of the late Joseph and Josephine Butts Gapinski.
On Sept. 16, 1961 in Holy Cross Church, Brandy Camp, he married Elizabeth "Betty" Zambanini, and she survives.
A 1946 Johnsonburg High School graduate, he was a member of Holy Rosary Church, Johnsonburg Senior Center, and Knights of Columbus Council 2007.
Louise M. Andres, 89, of 406 Chestnut St., died Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2014 at the DuBois Nursing Home after a brief illness.
She was born Aug. 3, 1925 in St. Marys, daughter of the late Charles and Clara Pistner Schaut. She was a lifelong resident of the area and graduated from Central Catholic High School, Class of 1943.
On July 8, 1950 in the Sacred Heart Church, she married Arthur A. Andres, who survives.
Mrs. Andres was a member of the Sacred Heart Church, St. Anneâ€™s Society, and the Sacred Heart Social Committee. She enjoyed baking and gardening.
Rosalee E. Coppock, 91, of Guy & Mary Felt Manor, Emporium, died Tuesday night, Dec. 9, 2014 at Penn Highlands Elk in St. Marys.
She was born Nov. 7, 1923 in Baltimore, Md., daughter of the late Horace and Grace Pyle Emerson Sr.
On Oct. 13, 1945 in Baltimore, Md., she married the late Rev. John Coppock.
Mrs. Coppock graduated from Allentown Bible Institute in Allentown. Rosalee was involved in ministry with her husband, Rev. John Coppock, for most of her life.
Yolanda E. â€śViolaâ€ť Geci, 95, of 1173 Million Dollar Hwy., Kersey, died unexpectedly Monday, Dec. 8, 2014 on the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, at Penn Highlands Elk.
She was born Feb. 8, 1919 in St. Marys, daughter of the late Anthony and Lucia Pasta Salvatore.
She was a lifelong resident of the area and attended Sacred Heart School and St. Marys Public schools.
On June 15, 1940 in the Sacred Heart Church, she married Lucian M. Geci, who preceded her in death July 18, 1982.
Marie J. Pontzer, 81, a resident of Silver Creek Terrace and formerly of 238 Fairview Rd., Kersey, died Monday, Dec. 8, 2014, at the Elk Haven Nursing Home.
She was born Oct. 6, 1933 in St. Marys, daughter of the late James and Assunta Scarnati Carino. She was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, Class of 1953. She was a retired cook at the St. Marys Area High School, retiring in 1999 after 28 years of service.
On Sept. 1, 1956 in the Queen of the World Church, she married Mark P. Pontzer, who preceded her in death Oct. 18, 2005.
Helen E. Urmann, 88, formerly of 340 Allenhurst Ave., Ridgway, died Friday morning, Dec. 5, 2014 at Elk Haven Nursing Home following a brief illness.
She was born June 3, 1926 in Ridgway, daughter of the late Joseph V. and Ruth (McMackin) Urmann.
She had resided in Ridgway all of her life, and was a member of the St. Leo Catholic Church.
Helen enjoyed reading, gardening and playing bridge. She was a graduate of St. Leo High School and Seton Hill College.
She had been employed by Brockway Glass for 40 years.
Frances D. Eckert, 98, a resident of Elk Haven Nursing Home, and formerly of Bucktail Trail, died Thursday, Dec. 4, 2014, at Elk Haven, on her motherâ€™s birthday.
She was born March 8, 1916 in Ridgway, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Pfingstler Dietz. She was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of St. Leoâ€™s High School, Class of 1934. She was a retired employee of the Stackpole Carbon Company, retiring in 1981 after 28 years of service.
On Aug. 17, 1935 in Portageville, N.Y., she married Herbert G. Eckert, who preceded her in death Feb. 20, 1976.
