Sharon M. Ryan, 60, of 15606 Marathon Circle, Potomac, Md., and a former St. Marys resident, died Friday, Jan. 24, 2014 at her residence unexpectedly.
She was born Nov. 8, 1953, in St. Marys, daughter of the late Daniel G. "Moon" and Jean Marie Hetrick Ryan.
She was a graduate of Elk County Christian High School, Class of 1971 and had resided in the Maryland area for over 27 years. She was a former employee of Airco Speer in St. Marys and a former employee of CRI in Rockville, Md.
Grace M. Gleixner, 82, of Brookville, died Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on Nov. 6, 1931 in St. Marys, a daughter of the late Leander and Alice Catherine (Sorg) Haberberger.
On May 1, 1954, she married James Michael Gleixner. He preceded her in death on Dec. 14, 2010.
Helen M. Briendel, 88, of Silver Creek Terrace and formerly of Maine and Florida, died Friday, Jan. 24, 2014 at the Elk Haven Nursing Home after a brief illness. She was born April 20, 1925 in St. Marys, daughter of the late Urban and Caroline Weinzierl Meyer. she was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, class of 1943.
Marie V. Schauer, 95, of 819 Johnsonburg Rd., St. Marys, died on Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2014, at the Pinecrest Manor.
She was born July 12, 1918 in Pittsburgh, daughter of the late Frank and Marie Donahue Clonan.
She was a lifelong resident of the area, attended Sacred Heart School, and was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, Class of 1936. She had also attended St. Benedictâ€™s Academy. She was a retired employee of St. Marys Carbon, retiring in 1983 after 30 years of service.
On Feb. 6, 1940 in the Sacred Heart Church, she married Richard P. Schauer, who survives.
Leslie E. Stilwell, 83, of 110 South St., Ridgway, died Monday morning, Jan. 20, 2014 at the Butler Memorial Hospital in Butler following a lengthy illness.
He was born June 22, 1930 in Roulette, son of the late George Leslie and Minnie (Carr) Stilwell.
He married Mary Eleanor DeVoge on Jan. 21, 1956, and she survives.
Jean M. Nero, 84, of West Oilwell Street, St. Marys, died Sunday, Jan. 19, 2014, at Elk Regional Health Center following a brief illness.
She was born on May 14, 1929 in St. Marys, a daughter of the late Clarence and Margaret Stauffer Schauer.
On Nov. 23, 1950, in St. Marys Church, she married Ray Nero, who survives.
Emma Louise Marshall Ginther, 85, died peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Jan. 16, 2014 in Pinellas Park, Fla.
Emma was born on May 21, 1928, and grew up in Emporium, where she graduated as salutatorian of her high school class in 1946. Â
She trained to become a registered nurse at Presbyterian Hospital in Philadelphia and later earned a BA in nursing administration from St. Joseph's College in Standish, Maine. She also lived in St. Marys, DuBois, Shippensburg and most recently at Green Ridge Village, a Presbyterian retirement community in Newville.
Pauline Cicuzza, 87, of Shawmut Avenue, Johnsonburg, died Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014 at the Elk Regional Health Center following a short illness.
She was born Dec. 20, 1926 in Shawmut, daughter of the late Frederick and Flora (Minnick) Fischer.
On Nov. 10, 1946, she married Clement A. "Dubb" Cicuzza, he preceded her in death on May 18, 2006.
She was a homemaker, member of St. John Lutheran Church, Johnsonburg Senior Center, and was known for her frequent walks around the area for exercise.
Born and raised in Shawmut, she lived most of her life in Johnsonburg.
Dolores F. "Dolly" Bauer, 80, of 1035 S. Michael Rd., St. Marys died Monday, Jan. 20, 2014, at Pinecrest Manor following a short illness.
She was born Jan. 22, 1933 in St. Marys, a daughter of the late Urban and Mary Wehler Feiley. On Oct. 15, 1955, in St. Marys Church, she married George Bauer, who survives.
Dolly was a lifelong resident of the area and a member of Queen of the World Church.Â She was a graduate of SMAHS and retired from the former PennBank after more than 20 years of service.Â She enjoyed quilting and spending time with her family.
Francis M. Johnson, 67, of 641 South Settlement Rd., Kane, died Saturday morning, Jan. 18, 2014 at her residence following a long illness.
Born Aug. 30, 1946 in St. Marys, she was the daughter of Robert M. and Anna Mae Hasselman Pelgrin. On Jan. 1, 1976 in Kane, she married Gary D. Johnson, who survives.
Francis was a teller at First National Bank in St. Marys for several years, then in a supervisory position at First National Bank in Erie. Later, she worked at Stackpole in Kane, from which she retired in 1985.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Kane.
