Dora M. Surra, 82, of 116 Zola Rd., Kersey, died Friday, March 18, 2011 at Elk Haven Nursing Home following a brief illness.
She was born June 6, 1928 in Coal Hollow, daughter of the late Antonio and Julia Gornati Cesa. On July 26, 1947, in the Guardian Angels Church in Coal Hollow, she married Leo J. Surra, who preceded her in death on March 31, 2000.
She was a lifelong resident of the area and attended Kersey schools. She was a retired employee of the Riverside Market.
Olga Marks Wildauer, 89, of Ridge Avenue, Falls Creek, died Thursday, March 17, 2011 at the DuBois Nursing Home.
She was born on July 24, 1921 in DuBois, daughter of the late John and Julia Marks.
In 1946, she married George A. Wildauer, who preceded her in death on Sept. 26, 2002.
She worked at the Jackson China Company in Falls Creek for many years. She also worked at Gray Printing Company and the DuBois Courier Express. She was a member of St. Bernard Roman Catholic Church. She was an artist and an occasional art instructor. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, and photography.
Diane Roberta "Bobbie" Benson, 51, of 212 South Brady Street, DuBois, and formerly of St. Marys, died on Wednesday, March 16, 2011 following a brief illness.
She was born March 31, 1959 in St. Marys, a daughter of Doris Williamson Lenox and the late Robert D. Lenox
On September 29, 1978, she married Bradley Benson, who survives.
William T. Johnson, 79, of 824 Cardinal Road, St. Marys, died on Thursday, March 17, 2011 at Elk Regional Health Center following a brief illness.
He was born March 17, 1932 in Allport, a son of the late Arthur and Edna Plowman Johnson.
On June 22, 1956 in Morrisdale, he married JoAnn Pierce Johnson, who survives.
Mary Louise Yonkie, 81, of 23 Apollo Dr., Brockport, died Monday, March 14, 2011, at the DuBois Nursing Home.
She was born Nov. 14, 1929, in Challenge, the daughter of the late Walter S. and Mary
G. Trumbull Smith.
On Sept. 29, 1951, she married Harry L. Yonkie, who preceded her in death on Aug. 5, 2003.
A Kersey resident for most of her life, she moved to Brockport, five years ago. She had been employed at the Fox Twp. Elementary School from 1973 until her retirement in 1996. Mrs. Yonkie enjoyed playing cards, traveling and spending time with her family.
Helen B. Linder, 87, of 326 Bingham Rd., Ridgway, died Tuesday evening, March 15, 2011, at Elk Haven Nursing Home following a lengthy illness.
She was born Aug. 12, 1923 in Johnsonburg, daughter of the late Barney and Josephine (Kolinoski) Piurkoski.
She married Paul R. Linder on Nov. 1, 1952, who survives.
She had resided in Ridgway since 1952 and was a past member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Johnsonburg, and a member of St. Leo Catholic Church in Ridgway. She had been employed by Sylvania in Emporium for over 20 years.
Josephine E. (Potempa) Copello, 86, died on Monday, March 14, 2011 at her residence.
She was born May 30, 1924 in Tyler, daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine (Delanta) Potempa.
She married Charles A. Copello, who preceded her in death in July 1970.
She worked worked as a sales clerk for Burlington Coat Factory and The Bon Ton, where she retired from. She was a graduate of Penfield High School.
Mary "Louise" Coccimiglio, 97, of Pine Avenue, Force, died early Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at home following a brief illness.
She was born Jan. 22, 1914 in Brockway, daughter of the late Benjamine and Rosina (Porco) Caruso.
She married Anthony Francis Coccimiglio, who preceded her in death on Sept. 28, 1979.
She was born and raised in Brockway, and lived for the past 78 years in Force. She was a graduate of Snyder Township High School. She was a homemaker, wife, and mother and for 10 years ran a general store in Weedville.
Maurice Falcettoni, 98, a resident of Elk Haven Nursing Home and a former resident of Dagus Mines, died Monday, March 14 at the Elk Regional Health Center after a brief illness.
He was born July 26, 1912 in Dagus Mines, son of the late Alexander (Alex) and Lena Gornati Falcettoni.
He was a lifelong resident of Dagus Mines and attended Kersey schools. He was the owner of a store in Dagus Mines and also worked as a coal miner.
Darcy S. Schneider, 54, of 150 First Ave. Apt. B, Johnsonburg, died on Monday, March 14, 2011 at Shadyside Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Pittsburgh following a lengthy illness.
She was born on Sept. 23, 1956 in St. Marys, the daughter of the late Edward and Ann Shannon Robuck.
She resided in Johnsonburg all her life and graduated from Johnsonburg High School in 1976.
She was a member of Holy Rosary Church, American Legion Post 501 in Johnsonburg and the Johnsonburg Moose. She loved animals and rooting for the Cincinnati Bengals.
