Edward C. Schaut, 78, of Macedonia, Ohio, and formerly of St. Marys, died Thursday, Feb. 3, 2011 in Cleveland, Ohio following a short illness.
He was the son of the late Romayne and Mildred Schaut of St. Marys.
He married the former Barbara Metrovich of Daguscahonda, who survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Valarie (Mats) Erikson, Dr. Vivian (John) Peterson, and Jeanne Ralston; five grandchildren, Tara, Mira and Uma Erikson, Chelsea and Marcus Ralston; three sisters, Tessie Schlimm of St. Marys, Sister Romayne Schaut OSB of Bristow, Va; and Gertie (Jim) Caruso of St. Marys.
February 6th
Theodore J. "Ted" Krellner, 66, of 797 Old West Creek Road, Emporium, died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2011.Â
He was born July 27, 1944 in St. Marys, son of Margaret Cooney Krellner of St. Marys and the late Joseph Krellner.
On January 25, 1974 in St. Mark Church, Emporium he married Annice Gorman Krellner, who survives.
Leo David Finfinger, 74, of Dover, Del., died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2011 in his home, surrounded by his family.
Mr. Finfinger was born Jan. 9, 1937 in St. Marys, son of the late George and Margaret Sayers Finfinger. He served almost 34 years in the U.S. Air Force, both on active duty and as a reservist. Following his retirement, he worked in Civil Service at DAFB for 5 years. He was an avid fan of Caesar Rodney High School sports, as well as the Baltimore Colts.
Grace M. Eddy, 94, of the Ridgmont Assisted Living Facility, Ridgway, formerly of Bradford, died on Friday, Feb. 4, 2011 at Elk Regional Health Center, St. Marys.
She was born on Nov. 13, 1916 in Bradford, a daughter of the late Joseph F. and Rose M. Christiana Pettinato.
On June 13, 1938, she married Frederick E. Eddy, who died on Oct. 7, 2007.
She was a member of the St. Bernard Catholic Church, Women of the Moose and the former Women’s Homemakers Club.
Eileen E. LaFarr DiNardo, 84, of 5538 Ridgway-Johnsonburg Rd., Johnsonburg, died Saturday evening, Feb. 5, 2011 at Pinecrest Manor in St. Marys following a lengthy illness.
She was born May 17, 1926 in Wilcox, daughter of the late Clarence and Olga Nord Johnson Sr.
She married Samuel S. LaFarr on Feb. 20, 1947 and he preceded her in death on March 22, 1989. She later married Dominic Anthony "Tony" DiNardo on July 28, 1989 and he survives.
February 4th
Timothy Paul Meyer, 24, of 323 S. Michael St., St. Marys, died Friday, Feb. 4, 2011 at Pinecrest Manor after a lengthy illness.
He was born April 14, 1986, in St. Marys, son of Roger Meyer of Warren and Julie Mallison Young of St. Marys, who survive.
He was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Ridgway High School. He attended basic training for the Army. He was a former employee of Pro Process in St. Marys and Alpha Sintered Metals in Ridgway.
rie A. "Babe" Feldbauer, 86, a resident of Pinecrest Manor and formerly of 225 E. Arch St., St. Marys, died Friday, Feb. 4, 2011 at Pinecrest Manor after a lengthy illness.
She was born Oct. 5, 1924 in St. Marys, daughter of the late Louis and Theresa "Daisy" Bauer Geitner. On Sept. 11, 1943, in St. Mary's Church, she married Jerome A. "Romie" Feldbauer, who preceded her in death on May 3, 1989.
She was a lifelong area of the area and attended St. Marys parochial schools. She was a retired employee of Emporium Secondaries.
February 2nd
Connor D. Bobik, age 5, of 224 Hilltop Dr., Kersey, died Wednesday morning, Feb. 2, 2011, after a courageous battle against brain cancer.
He was born June 30, 2005, in DuBois, son of Derek and Diane McGuire Bobik of Kersey, who survive.
He attended kindergarten at the Fox Township Elementary School. He will be remembered for his sparkling personality and his contagious smile. He loved playing with his brother, attending kindergarten, camping and soccer. John Deere and Monster Jam were two of his favorite things.
February 1st
Gilberta R. Myers, 81, of 408 Oak St., Ridgway, died Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2011, at Elk Regional Health Center.
She was born January 23, 1930, in Portland Mills, the daughter of the late Thomas and Ruth Jefferson DeCecchis.
On April 12, 1947, she married Howard H. Myers Jr., who survives.
Mary E. Dornish, 90, a resident of Pinecrest Manor and formerly of 2985 State St., St. Marys, died Monday, Jan. 31, 2011 at Pinecrest Manor.
She was born April 21, 1920, in Ridgway, daughter of the late Joseph Ulrich and Mabel Marshall Dornish.
She was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of St. Marys High School, Class of 1938. She taught swimming at the former Marshall Swimming Pool and had worked for the Forest Service and did clerical work.
