Ulmar L. Fritz, 98, of 147 Straub Ave., St. Marys, died peacefully at his residence on Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013.
He was born Jan. 25, 1915 in St. Marys, son of the late Henry J. and Elizabeth Jacob Fritz. On Feb. 17, 1938, in the Sacred Heart Church, he married Frances E. Holland and she preceded him in death on May 24, 2009.
Louis R. Morelli, 103, formerly of 313 Ash St., Ridgway, died Aug, 14, 2013 at Ridgmont, surrounded by his family.
He was born July 28, 1910, in Coal Hollow, the son of Narciso and Alma Morelli.
He was the oldest of five siblings who preceded him in death.
David M. Martin, 64, of 242 N. Michael St., St. Marys, died unexpectedly on Thursday, Aug. 15, 2013 at Willard-Filmore Suburban Hospital in Williamsville, New York.
He was born July 17, 1949 in St. Marys, a son of the late AndrewÂ and Gertrude Lodes Martin.
On Aug. 19, 1983 in Sacred Heart Church, he married Gloria Weichman Martin, who survives.
Joy Marie Farley, 58, of 252 S. Paul Rd., St. Marys, died unexpectedly on Thursday, Aug. 15, 2013 following a short illness at UPMC Hamot Hospital in Erie.
She was born Oct. 24, 1954 in St. Marys, a daughter of Avis Schauer Neubert of St. Marys and the late Charles Neubert.
On May 16, 1981 in Queen of the World Church, she married Stephen Farley, who survives.
James 'Jitter' Stansbury, 73, of Lake Striker, Texas, died Thursday, Aug. 15, 2013 at his residence.
He was born June 16, 1940 to Roy Lee and Bertha Ann Stansbury in Clarksville, Texas.
He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was awarded the Purple Heart. He was retired from Anderson Hickey, working there as a manager.
Vera Mae Cartwright, 70, of 169 Margaret Rd., St. Marys, died Monday, Aug. 12, 2013 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh surrounded by her family.
She was born July 5, 1943 in Hagerstown, Md., daughter of the late Charles and Bessie Baker Beauchamp. She was married to the late Bruce Cartwright, who preceded her in death on Nov. 4, 2012.
Mrs. Cartwright was Baptist by faith and enjoyed baking cookies, gardening and flowers. She was a pillar of strength who enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Bernadette H. Kosco, 101, of Harrisburg, died peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013 at Arden Courts of Susquehanna â€“ welcomed into the arms of our Creator whom she served her entire life.
She was born May 4, 1912 in New York City, the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. William E. Howley, the seventh of eight children.
She was a 1933 graduate of Marymount College in Tarrytown, N.Y. She majored in French and during her junior year attended the University of Parisâ€”the Sorbonne. Upon completing her bachelorâ€™s degree she was employed as a social worker in New York City.
Emanuela Costanzo, 89, of 314 First Avenue, Johnsonburg, died at her residence on Tuesday evening, Aug. 13, 2013, following a lengthy illness.
She was born June 23, 1924 in Platania, Italy, daughter of the late Carlo and Giovana Perri.
On Feb. 27, 1947 she married Michele Costanzo, and he survives.
Formerly of Italy, she resided in Johnsonburg since 1953.
She was a member of Holy Rosary Church and she loved baking and gardening. She was employed by Caldwell Decorators in Ridgway for several years. She had also worked as a seamstress for most of her life.
Carl W. Cook, 80, of 1102 Horner Rd., Wilcox, died Friday morning, August 9, 2013 at Elk Regional Health Center in St. Marys following a brief illness.
He was born July 7, 1933 in Hazelhurst, son of the late Carl R. and Lillian Dippo Cook.
He married Beverly Marlene Johnson on November 20, 1954 in the Wilcox Presbyterian Church, and she survives.
Formerly of James City, he resided in Wilcox since 1958. He graduated from Kane High School and was a member of the Wilcox Presbyterian Church and Wilcox Sportsmen's Club.
Justine Marie Bowser, 35, of Johnsonburg, died Sunday, Aug. 11, 2013 as the result of an auto accident.
She was born July 23, 1978 in St. Marys, daughter of Robert W. Bowser Sr. and his wife Clara of St. Marys, and Antoinette "Toni" (Hasselman) Jordan and her husband Willis of Johnsonburg.
