Pauline H. Fritz, 87, a resident of Pinecrest Manor and formerly of Johnsonburg Road, St. Marys, died Sunday, Feb. 26, 2012 at the Pinecrest Manor after a brief illness.
She was born July 24, 1924 in St. Marys, daughter of the late John A. C. and A. Bertha Weinzierl Herzing. On Sept. 5, 1949, in the St. Maryâ€™s Church, she married Harold J. â€śHalâ€ť Fritz, who preceded her in death on Oct. 23, 1996.
Michael J. Carr of 641 Shelvey Summit Road, Kersey, died suddenly at Elk Regional Health Center, on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012. He was born March 15, 1955, in Hope, Maine, the son of Clarence J. and Madine L. LaBranche Carr. On August 7, 1977, he married Judith A. Caggiano, she survives. Michael was employed at Penncon and Ridgway Steel Fabricators, as a fitter welder and later at Keystone Carbon Co. in St. Marys, prior to starting his flooring business, Mikeâ€™s Custom Services in 1996. He was a member of the Ridgway Elks Lodge, St.
Mary Martha Halloran, 94, a resident of the St. Marys Home in Erie and formerly of 131 Oilwell St., St. Marys, died early Sunday morning, Feb. 26, 2012, at the St. Marys Home East in Erie.
She was born June 30, 1917 in St. Marys, daughter of the late Patrick and Mary Welsh Fehley. On Aug. 7, 1946 in the Sacred Heart Church, she married Francis B. Halloran, who preceded her in death July 21, 1996.
Mrs. Halloran was a member of the Sacred Heart Church and volunteered as a secretary at the Sacred Heart Rectory and did volunteer work for the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
Leslie J. Haas, 64, of 475 Lance Dr., Ridgway, died unexpectedly in Ridgway Township on Friday, Feb. 24, 2012.
He was born Sept. 12, 1947 in Allentown, a son of Marlowe Arner Haas of Emporium and the late James Haas.
On Aug. 17, 1969 in Williamsburg, Va., he married Janet Hutchens Haas, who survives.
Alice L. Ehrensberger, 84, of 45 Plum St., St. Joseph's Terrace, Weedville, and formerly of Bucktail Road, St. Marys, died Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012 at the DuBois Nursing Home after an illness of the past several months.
She was born Dec. 31, 1927, in St. Marys, daughter of the late Allie and Agnes Dollinger Eckert. On April 21, 1947, in St. Marys, she married Wayne L. Ehrensberger, who preceded her in death on Oct. 8, 1993.
James M. Kiska, 55, of 441 Rightmeyer St., St. Marys, died Feb. 23, 2012 at the VA Hospital in Pittsburgh.
He was born July 3, 1956 in Pittsburgh, son of Chester J. Kiska of Portland Mills and the late Margaret A. â€śNancyâ€ť McKelvey Kiska.
Mr. Kiska had resided in St. Marys the past 18 years and had attended Chartiers Valley schools. He served in the U.S. Marines from 1972-1978.
Joseph C. Rieder, 74, of Northumberland, Pa., died Monday, Feb. 20, 2012 at Geisinger Medical Center.
He was born in St. Marys, the son of the late Joseph and Veneta Gerg Rieder.
He is survived by his wife; three daughters; one son; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mary Lou Ritter, Margaret (Peg) Buhler and Patty Brooks; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Wilbur, Bob, Tom and Richard; and three sisters, Verna Dornish, Elaine Brennan and Shirley Lanzel.
Joan Helen Krise, 69, of 227 Ridge Rd., Kersey, died Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2012 at the Mt. Laurel Nursing Home in Clearfield following a lengthy illness.
She was born May 4, 1942 in Portland Mills, daughter of the late John and Lola Luchs Bugden. On March 23, 1957 in Ridgway, she married Thomas Anthony Krise Sr., who survives.
She was a lifelong resident of the area and attended Ridgway schools. She was a former employee of Wal-Mart and the former Oasis Restaurant in Ridgway. She enjoyed cooking.
Leo Tamburlin, 93, of Route 219, Brockport, died Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2012 at his residence.
He was born April 19, 1918, in Kersey, son of the late Peter and Felicita Ferraza Tamburlin. He married Lorraine Grecco, who survives.
James Stephen Sennett, 89, of Seven Lakes, N.C., died Saturday, Feb. 4, 2012 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital.
He was born in St. Marys, son of the late Clifford J. and Catherine F. Sennett. Following graduation from Penn State University, he was employed as Sales Manager for Stackpole Inc. He was an avid golfer, friend to all, a man of integrity and always a gentleman. He was a devoted husband and a loving father.
During WW II, he served in the Army Air Corps with the 319th Bombardier Squadron and was involved in combat duty in the Mediterranean Theatre.
