George J. Samick 70, of 717 Evergreen Rd., St. Marys, died on Friday, Nov. 4, 2011 at Hamot Medical Center in Erie following a brief illness.
He was born May 16, 1941 in St. Marys, a son of the late George and Bertha Prechtl Samick.
On April 4, 1972, he married Sandra Copella Samick, who survives.
Mr. Samick was a lifelong resident of the area and graduated from Central High School, Class of 1959.Â He retired from Morgan AM&T after more than 47 years of service and was a member of Queen of the World Church.
Sharon L. Goetz, 47, of 148 Lynch Rd., St. Marys, died Saturday, Nov. 5, 2011 at West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh following a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born on April 20, 1964 in St. Marys, the daughter of Jerome and Mary Ann Meyer Wendel of St. Marys, who survive.
On April 22, 2011 in Williamsport, she married Robert Rudolph, who survives, and who was not only her husband, but also her caregiver.
Elizabeth (Betty) Schwarzbach, 68, of Columbus, Ohio, died Friday, Oct. 21, 2011.
She was born September 2, 1943, in St. Marys, daughter of the late Walter and Mary "Mookie" Mahaney.
She married Franz Schwarzbach in June 1963 in St. Boniface Church in Kersey. He survives.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Franz and Thomas of Ohio; a daughter, Maria See and a granddaughter, Shyanne See, also of Ohio; two sisters, Jane Rigard of Kersey and Patti Eckl of Daguscahonda; and one brother, Tom Mahaney of St. Marys.
Richard L. â€śDickâ€ť Clevenger Sr., of James City, died Thursday, November 3, 2011 at Kane Community Hospital after a brief illness.
Born August 17, 1938, in Fisher, he was a son of the late Benjamin and Dorothy Rhodes Clevenger.
Mr. Clevenger served in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1960. Later in life, he joined the Army National Guard and served with the Kane Unit for 20 years. During that time they were deployed for service in support of Operation Desert Storm in Iraq.
Lisa M. Maholtz, 51, of Early Avenue, Ridgway, died Monday, Nov. 1, 2011 at home after a short illness.
She was born June 16, 1960 in Ridgway, the daughter of Kenneth and Elsie (DeLong) Maholtz, who survive.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by a daughter, Chasitie Edmisten of Ridgway; a granddaughter, Nevaeh Edmisten; and a sister, Helen Maholtz-Turner of North Carolina.
She was predeceased by her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy and Orpha DeLong and Mr. and Mrs. Frank and Amy Maholtz. Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â
Janis M. Sample, 53, of 148 School St., Kane, and formerly of Wilcox, died on Monday, Oct. 31, 2011 at Kane Community Hospital following a brief illness.
She was born on August 19, 1958 in Ridgway, daughter of Thomas J. and Dorothy Dush Redmond.
She married Jeffrey A. Sample on May 14, 1982. He survives.
She resided in Kane for the last 22 years. She graduated from Johnsonburg Area High School, Class of 1976 and from Median Technical School of Pittsburgh as an Animal Health Tech. She was employed by Kinzua Veterinary Clinic in Warren for 10 years.
Jane Tell, 76, of Arroyo Road, Spring Creek Township, died Sunday, October 30, 2011, at her residence.
She was born April 1, 1935, in New Bethlehem, the daughter of the late Lester and Frances Reitz. On October 7, 1972, she married William Tell, who survives.
Virginia L. Fodge, 74, of Fincastle, Va., previously of St. Marys, died Monday, Oct. 31, 2011 following a brief illness.
She was born Nov. 15, 1936 in Bethlehem to Edward and Hyla Snyder.
She resided in St. Marys most of her life, working for Stackpole Carbon and Powdered Metal Products. She was a member of Shiloh Presbyterian Church, Westminster Presbyterian of Escondido, Calif., Fincastle Presbyterian Church most recently, and the Presbyterian Womenâ€™s Organization. She was also an active member of the Brae and Beck Garden Club of Fincastle, Va.
William (Bill) H. Dyke, 83, of Warren, died Sunday morning, Oct. 30, 2011 at his residence.
He was born in Warren on March 18, 1928, to the late George H. and Mary Lee E. Seekings Dyke.
On Oct. 4, 1947 near Plumer, Pa., he married Eleanor "Ellie" Mabon Dyke, who survives.
Clark A. Hawkins Ph.D., 78, of 528 Sawmill Run Road, Kersey, died Thursday, October 27, 2011 at the Elk Regional Health Center.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service to be held in the Toby Methodist Church on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Joni Williams officiating. Burial will be in the Elkton Cemetery.
There will be no visitation.
