William R. Penfield Sr.

March 14, 2011

William R. Penfield Sr., 87, formerly of Ridgway and Kane, died Monday morning, March 14, 2011, at Elk Regional Health Center following a brief illness.
He was born Oct. 1, 1923, in Brockway, son of the late William J. and Dorothy (Woods) Penfield.
He married Erma Jean Griffith on Jan. 19, 1946. She preceded him in death on May 17, 1974.

Henry P. “Hiney” Jesberger

Henry P. “Hiney” Jesberger, 93, a resident of Elk Haven Nursing Home and formerly of 185 Center St., Elk Towers, St. Marys, died Sunday morning, March 13, 2011 at the Elk Haven Nursing Home after a brief illness.
He was born March 21, 1917 in St. Marys, son of the late Fred and Clara Wehler Jesberger.
On June 30, 1945, in the St. Mary’s Church in Erie, he married Mary C. Burdick, who preceded him in death on Nov. 23, 1999. They enjoyed 54 years of marriage.

Richard C. James

Richard C. James, 69, of Stow, Ohio, and formerly of Kersey, died on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at Akron City Hospital in Akron, Ohio following a short illness.
He was born March 2, 1942 in St. Marys, a son of the late Carl R. and Marie Klausman James.

Linda A. (Gordon) DeSalve

Linda A. (Gordon) DeSalve, 56, of DeSalve Road, Penfield, died at her home on Saturday, March 12, 2011.
She was born April 22, 1954 in Philadelphia, daughter of the late William and Margaretta (Gill) Gordon. On July 15, 1972 she married Lon A. DeSalve Sr., who survives.
Born and raised in Philadelphia, she lived in Ridgway from 1969 through 1972, and spent the remainder of her life in Penfield. She was a graduate of Ridgway High School, Class of 1972.

Robert J. "Bobby" Rupprecht

Robert J. "Bobby" Rupprecht, 79, of Ridgway, died peacefully Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport, Conn.
He was born in St. Marys, the son of the late Aloysius (Alois) and Mary Rupprecht.
He married Sheila Rupprecht, who survives.
He lived many years in the greater Fairfield, Conn. area prior to moving back to Pennsylvania. He was a retired employee of Norwalk Powdered Metals.

Maude Helen Wilson

Maude Helen Wilson, 73, of 78 Spring Brook Dr., Ridgway, died Wednesday evening, March 9, 2011 at UPMC-Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh following a lengthy illness.
She was born Aug. 19, 1937 in Ridgway, daughter of the late Theodore R. and Hazel A. (Sherman) Salberg.
She married Marshall E. Wilson on March 17, 1956, who survives.

Judith A. Geer

Judith A. Geer, 71, of 107 Irishtown Rd., Kersey, died Wednesday morning, March 9, 2011 at the Pinecrest Manor after a lengthy illness.
She was born Sept. 30, 1939 in Kersey, daughter of the late Matthew and Clara Gahr Heigel.
In 1958 in the St. Boniface Church, she married Walter H. Geer, who survives.

Thomas Alvin Terwilliger

Thomas Alvin Terwilliger, 82, of 19 Hiram St., Brookville, died Friday, March 4, 2011 at the Veterans Hospital in Oakland.
He was born December 5, 1928 in Cadogan Township, son of the late Homer and Mildred Bortz Terwilliger.
He had made his home with Judith Baumgratz for many years. She preceded him in death in 1997.
He was Methodist by faith and enjoyed hunting, camping and especially fishing as well as spending time with his family.
He had been employed at Stackpole Carbon as a die setter. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, having served during the Korean War.

Florence L. Steis

Florence L. Steis, 88, of Miamisburg, Ohio, died Friday, March 4, 2011 at her residence under the care of Hospice of Dayton.
She was born Sept. 12, 1922 in Brandy Camp, the daughter of Gelindo and Julia Castina Benigni.
She was a former resident of Brandy Camp and Coraopolis.

Ronald Jones Stewart

Ronald Jones Stewart, 94, of Main Street, Brockway, died Sunday, March 6, 2011 at his residence.
Born on May 29, 1916, in Brockway, he was the son of the late William A. Stewart, Jr. and Mary I. (Jones) Stewart.
He was a veteran of the both the United States Army and the United States Navy, serving during World War II. He was retired from the National Office of the Boy Scouts of America and was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
He is survived by a sister, Alberta Watters of York.
He was preceded in death by his parents and numerous siblings.
