FrancesÂ "Babe" Wilhelm, 90, of 1169 Windfall Rd., St. Marys, died on Sunday, March 27, 2011 at Pinecrest Manor following a brief illness.
She was born Oct. 16, 1920 in Byrnedale, a daughter of the late Fiorillo and Marie Cortina Canton.
On Sept. 8, 1951 in Force, she married Edward H. Wilhelm, who survives.
M. Jean Gigliotti, 82, of 101 North Mill St., Ridgway, and formerly of Wilcox, died Saturday morning, March 26, 2011 at the Elk Haven Nursing Home in St. Marys following a short illness.
She was born March 2, 1929, daughter of Raymond and Mary Anderson McConnell.
She married Robert Fowler on March 14, 1946 and he died in 2002. She married Natale Gigliotti and he died April 5, 1992.
She resided in Ridgway for three years and Allentown for 20 years. She attended Harding Jr. High School in Philadelphia.
Edward C. "Charlie" Krise, 74, of 72 Erie Ave., St. Marys and formerly of 1200 Million Dollar Highway, Kersey, died on Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at UPMC Monteï¬ore Hospital in Pittsburgh following a brief illness.
He was born June 26, 1936 in Ridgway, a son of the late Oden and Christine Bellotti Krise.
Jerome E. Gerg Sr., 81, of 345 Toby Rd., Kersey, died Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at his residence after a brief illness.
He was born March 9, 1930 in Dagus Mines, son of the late Gerald and Anna Bauer Gerg.
On Jan. 20, 1955, in Pittsburgh, he married Nancy L. Smail, who preceded him in death on May 25, 2007.
He was a lifelong resident of the area and attended St. Boniface School. He was a retired employee of Dick Eazor Chevrolet in Brockway.
George Nicholas "Nick" Briggs, 78, of Lynchburg, Va., died Wednesday, March 23, 2011.
He was born Feb. 1, 1933, in Massillon, Ohio, a son of the late William Briggs and Ruby Nell Briggs.
He was husband of the late Sara Henley Briggs for 51 years.
Jerome P. âJerryâ Joyce, 61, formerly of Emporium, died Tuesday, March 15, 2011, in Snyder Memorial Health Care Center, Marienville, following a lengthy illness.
He was born May 18, 1949 in St. Marys, son of the late Joseph and Margaret Heher Joyce.
On May 19, 2000 in DuBois, he married Karen Pavelko Fritz, who survives.
Loretta Jean "Buffy" Schaberl, 38, of 577 Kerner Ave., St. Marys, died Sunday, March 20, 2011 at the Select Specialty Hospital in Erie after a lengthy illness.
She was born May 29, 1972, in Warren, daughter of Mary Nero Anderson of St. Marys.
She was a lifelong resident of the area and attended St. Marys schools. She was a member of the St. Mary's Church and she enjoyed being outside with her family.
Walter G. Schatz, 83, of 1427 Rosely Rd., St. Marys, died Monday morning, March 21, 2011, at his residence after a brief illness.
He was born Aug. 20, 1927, in St. Marys, son of the late Fred and Eleanor Young Schatz.
On July 10, 1954, in the St. Mary's Church, he married Theresa K. Kestler, who survives.
He was a lifelong resident of the area and attended St. Marys parochial schools. He was a member of the St. Mary's Church; a veteran of the Army, having served in the Korean War; was a member of the American Legion; and enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing golf and carpentry.
Richard J. (Dick) Bauer Jr. 83, of 14 Hauber Ave., St. Marys, died Friday, March 18, 2011 at his residence following a brief illness.
He was born Feb. 12, 1928 in St. Marys, son of the late Richard J. and Marie Vollmer Bauer Sr. On February 26, 1954, in Buffalo, N.Y., he married Betty Lou Colson, who survives.
He was a lifelong resident of the area and attended St. Marys parochial schools.
He was a retired employee of the Keystone Powdered Metal Co., retiring in 1990 after 42 years of service. He was now working for the Trout Run Secondary.
Timothy L. Keyser, 45, of 203 1/2 Main St., Ridgway, died early Saturday morning at Elk Regional Health Center.
He was born April 24, 1965, in Ridgway, son of Amelia M. (Thompson) Keyser.
He had resided in Ridgway all of his life and was a graduate of the Ridgway High School. He was a member of the Ridgway Eagles Club, where he had been a Trustee, and he was a member of the American Legion Post 208.
He served in the U.S. Air Force and had also served in the Pennsylvania National Guard.
He had been employed by Coca-Cola Bottling Company of DuBois.
