Edward S. Levanduski, 80, of Pine Avenue, Force, died Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at Penn Highlands-DuBois after a short illness.
He was born Sept. 3, 1933 in Tyler, son of the late James and Bernice (Sadowski) Levanduski.
On Sept. 3, 1955, he married Josephine (Skrzypek), and she survives.
He was a graduate of Huston Township High School, Class of 1952, and retired from Airco Speer in 1996 after 42 years.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Force. He enjoyed the Steelers, Pirates, hunting and especially his dog â€śShabby.â€ť
He lived all his life in Bennetts Valley.
Vito Eozzo, 79, of 617 Sherry Rd., St. Marys, died Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at Penn Highlands Elk.
He was born July 12, 1934 in Johnsonburg, son of the late Nicholas and Vincenza Eozzo. On June 13, 1959, in the Sacred Heart Church, he married Jean M. Feldbauer, who survives
He was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Johnsonburg High School, Class of 1952. He was the retired owner of Vito's Dairy Dell in St. Marys where he worked for 45 dedicated years of service to his faithful customers, whom he considered his family. He was famous for his Vito's Hoagies.
Patricia Jeanne Clifford â€śJeanneâ€ť, 85, of 78 Station St., Daguscahonda, died Saturday, June 28, 2014 at Elk Haven Nursing Home.
She was born Jan. 19, 1929, in Utica, daughter of the late Otto Fredericks and Genevieve Cratty Stitzinger.
John P. "Jack" Mullaney, 92, of 123 Diamond St., St. Marys, died Sunday June 29, 2014 at his residence after an illness of several months.
He was born Dec. 11, 1921 in St. Marys, son of the late Patrick and Charlotte Spangler Mullaney.
On April 14, 1956, in the St. Mary's Church, he married Therese S. Schneider, who survives.
He was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Central Catholic High School Class of 1939 and a graduate of Penn State University with a B.S. degree in chemistry. He was a retired employee of the Stackpole Carbon Co.
Matthew J. "Matt" Sprague, 30, of 235 West Center St., Johnsonburg, died Saturday, June 28, 2014 at his residence following a lengthy illness.
He was born Dec. 29, 1983, son of Lawrence "Larry" Sprague and Peggy Dickinson Sprague.
He graduated from Johnsonburg Area High High School in 2003 and resided in Johnsonburg all his life. He was a member of Holy Rosary Church, Central Hose Company, and was an avid Cinch player. He was a Walmart associate for 10 years.
Arthur Salvadore Aiello, 87 of 90 Forrest St., Ridgway, died peacefully surrounded by family Thursday, June 26, 2014 at his home.
He was born Dec. 27, 1926 in Johnsonburg, son of the late Gennaro and Frances (Chirillo) Aiello.
He was born and raised in "the flats" of Johnsonburg along with his many brothers and sisters. He married Betty "Pete" Johnson in 1950 and enjoyed 64 years of marriage.
Eric R. Long, 44, of Denver, Colo., and a former resident of St. Marys, died unexpectedly Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at his residence.
He was born March 4, 1970 in St. Marys, son of the late Georgia Erich Long, who died May 22, 2008 and George R. Long, who survives of St. Marys. He was a 1988 graduate of St. Marys Area High School and a 1992 graduate of Penn State University. He was currently employed as a systems engineer.
Eric enjoyed hiking, camping, traveling, hunting, and anything outdoors.
Catherine E. Urey, 64, of 201 Elk Ave., Johnsonburg, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at Penn Highlands Elk.
She was born on July 11, 1949, a daughter of the late Charles Miller and Violet Rex Mowrey.
Cathy was a lifelong resident of the area and a graduate of Johnsonburg High School, class of 1968. She worked at Metaldyne for many years and also drove school bus for a number of years. She liked to hunt and she greatly enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family.
Donald R. Williams, 71, of St. Marys, died with his family by his side at Hershey Medical Center, on Tuesday afternoon, June 24, 2014.
He was born Oct. 9, 1942 in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Bob and Dorothy Williams.
On April 17, 1978 in St. Marys, he married Elizabeth "Betty" Catalone Williams, who survives.
Don graduated from Upper St. Clair High School and served with the National Guard. He worked in the construction business throughout the area for many years. He was a promoter of Slovenian style polka music and was the host of The Don Williams Polka Review for more than 30 years.
John William Rickard, 78, of 391 Toby Rd., Kersey, died Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at his home after a lengthy illness.
He was born Feb. 7, 1936 in Fallen Timber, son of the late David John and Dorothy Black Rickard.
He attended Coalport schools and had been a resident of the area since 1970. He had worked as a coal miner, helped in the construction of the Kinzua Dam, and retired from Powdered Metal Products after 36 years of service.
In April 1962, he married Charlotte Lipsey, who preceded him in death on March 4, 1999.
