Dolores F. "Dolly" Bauer, 80, of 1035 S. Michael Rd., St. Marys died Monday, Jan. 20, 2014, at Pinecrest Manor following a short illness.
She was born Jan. 22, 1933 in St. Marys, a daughter of the late Urban and Mary Wehler Feiley. On Oct. 15, 1955, in St. Marys Church, she married George Bauer, who survives.
Dolly was a lifelong resident of the area and a member of Queen of the World Church.Â She was a graduate of SMAHS and retired from the former PennBank after more than 20 years of service.Â She enjoyed quilting and spending time with her family.
Francis M. Johnson, 67, of 641 South Settlement Rd., Kane, died Saturday morning, Jan. 18, 2014 at her residence following a long illness.
Born Aug. 30, 1946 in St. Marys, she was the daughter of Robert M. and Anna Mae Hasselman Pelgrin. On Jan. 1, 1976 in Kane, she married Gary D. Johnson, who survives.
Francis was a teller at First National Bank in St. Marys for several years, then in a supervisory position at First National Bank in Erie. Later, she worked at Stackpole in Kane, from which she retired in 1985.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Kane.
John P. Gutowski Jr., 73, died Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014.
He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Kathleen; daughters Kirsten Gutowski, Kara (Kevin) Gladstone and Kyle Gutowski; a grandson, Casey, and one grandchild on the way; brothers and sisters Dave (Mary Jo), Mike (Cathy), Veronica (John) Sterbank, Mary (Ron) Carbonara; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass for John P. Gutowski Jr. will be held today at 9:30 a.m. at St. Pius Tenth Church, 3000 Chili Ave., Rochester, N.Y.
Interment will follow at St. Pius Cemetery.
Gloria M. â€śTootâ€ť Mulcahy, 87, of Orlando, Fla., and formerly of St. Marys, died Monday, Jan. 13, 2014 in Orlando.
She was born June 5, 1926 in Weedville, daughter of the late John and Louise (Crocco) Azzato. She attended Bennetts Valley Schools and was a lifelong resident of the area until 10 years ago when she moved to Orlando with her son Dale.
On Nov. 17, 1951, in the St. Josephâ€™s Church in Force, she married Allan E. Mulcahy, who preceded her in death on Nov. 15, 2000.
Dr. Mark Mraz, 62, of Slippery Rock Borough, Butler County, died at his residence on Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014 at 11:15 p.m.Â
He was born in Kittanning, Armstrong County, to Mike Mraz and Lena Trombetta Mraz.Â
He married Sue Ginther of St. Marys on Aug. 9, 1975.
Vernon R. Kear, 75, of Poplar Road, Weedville died Sunday, Jan. 12 at DuBois Regional Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He was born July 21, 1938 in Weedville, son of George and Beatrice Champion Kear Sr. He lived in New Hampshire for 40 years and returned to the Valley in 1999.
In 1958 he married Jeanette Lafleur who survives.
Lois J. Agens, 86, of 101 N. Mill St., Ridgway died Thursday, Jan. 9 at Pinecrest Manor. She was born Nov. 27, 1927 in Corry, daughter of Harry L. and Hazel O. Bullers Agens. She lived for many years in Ridgway. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church and the Idler's Club at the Hi-Rise. She retired from the Dietary Dept. at Elk County General Hospital.
She is survived by several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Clark E. Agens.
Andrew M. Kalambukas of Buffalo, N.Y. died on Friday, Jan. 10, 2014 while holding his son's hand.
He was born and raised in St. Marys, son of Markos and Anna Kalambukas.
Andrew was a WWII veteran having entered the Navy on June 14, 1943 just days after graduating from high school. He was a radioman second class and was stationed in the Pacific and Philippines where he served aboard the USS Providence and the USS Hilo.
James A. Taylor, 55 of Washinton St., St. Marys, died on Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014, at Elk Regional Health Center following a short illness.
He was born on June 12, 1958 in St. Marys, a son of the late Gerald Taylor and Alice Bobenrieth Taylor, who survives.
Mr. Taylor was a member of the American Legion and the P.F.L. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and his grandchildren.
Joel Michael Foster, 70, of DuBois, died at home on January 9, 2014 after an extended illness. He was born, July 7, 1943, in DuBois, son of the late Lillian Johnson Foster and Joseph Foster. He married Karen Rhoades Foster on August 25, 1973.
Joel was raised in Brockway where he graduated from high school in 1961. He attended Clarion University and graduated with a degree in secondary science education. While at Clarion, Joel was a member of Pi Gamma Mu, Science Honor Society and Theta Chi Fraternity.
