Amelia "Millie" Swackhammer

Amelia "Millie" Swackhammer, 81, of 185 Center St., Elk Towers, and formerly of Kersey, died unexpectedly Saturday, Jan. 3, 2015 at her residence.
She was born Jan. 13, 1933 in Benezette, daughter of the late John and Ann Benini Parisi. She was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Benezette High School. She was a former employee of the Keystone Carbon Co.
On Sept. 13, 1952, in the St. Michael's Church in DuBois, she married Leon R. Swackhammer who preceded her in death March 4, 2012.

Marshall C. "Cecil" O'Rourke

Marshall C. "Cecil" O'Rourke, 93, of Elk Haven Nursing Home, St. Marys, and formerly of Mefferts Run Road, Wilcox, Chicago, Ill. and Cleveland, Ohio, died early Thursday morning, Jan. 1, 2015 at Penn Highlands Elk in St. Marys following a lengthy illness.
He was born July 7, 1921 in Johnsonburg, son of the late Marshall Q. and Lila Grace Beck O'Rourke.
He married Marge Bodnar and she died in 2001.
He resided in Wilcox since 2004, and had lived in Chicago, Ill. for 40 years and Cleveland, Ohio for 18 years.

Dorothy C. “Dottie” Bryington

Dorothy C. “Dottie” Bryington, 48, of Walnut Street, St. Marys, died Saturday, Dec. 27, 2014 in Clearfield.
She was born March 9, 1966 in Kane, daughter of Donald Bedford of Kane and Martha “Sis” (Morgan) Bedford of Wilcox.
She was a graduate of Johnsonburg High School. She worked as a cook for local restaurants.
She was a member of the Wilcox Presbyterian Church, Wilcox Sportsman’s and the American Legion of Wilcox and Johnsonburg.
She lived in Wilcox most of her life until the past few years in Johnsonburg and St. Marys.

Paul E. Silk Sr.

Paul E. Silk Sr., 84, of 66 Oak St., Wilcox, died early Sunday morning, Dec. 28, 2014 at Penn Highlands DuBois in DuBois following a short illness.
He was born April 17, 1929 in Wilcox, son of the late John and Emma Benson Silk.
He resided in Wilcox all his life and attended Wilcox High School. He was a member of Nazareth Lutheran Church, Wilcox. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening and especially enjoyed socializing.

Jane E. Calkins Schuck

Jane E. Calkins Schuck, 68, of 620 Georgetown Place, Casselberry, Fla., formerly of Johnsonburg and Olean, N.Y., died Friday morning, Dec. 26, 2014 at the residence of her sister, Cindy Elmquist, with her family by her side following a lengthy illness.
She was born May 10, 1946 in Ridgway, daughter of the late James and Thelma Snyder Calkins.
He resided in Florida since 1991 and had previously resided in Olean, N.Y. from 1970 to 1991.
She graduated from Johnsonburg High School in 1964. She attended St. Bonaventure University and was a graduate of Jamestown Community College.

Regis R. Yeager

Regis R. Yeager, 67, of 1048 Brechtel Rd., Rasselas, died early Wednesday morning, Dec. 24, 2014 at his residence following a short illness.
He was born May 11, 1947 in Spangler, son of the late Archibald and Ruby Myers Yeager.
On July 2, 1990 in St. Marys, he married Sandra Brechtel, and she survives.
He resided in the Wilcox-Rasselas area since he was 18. He graduated from Hastings High School in 1967.
He was a member of Holy Rosary Church, and the Ridgway Fire Department for 16 years. He loved hunting, fishing and farming.

Roy F. Healy

Roy F. Healy, 89, of 405 Maple Ave., Ridgway, died Wednesday evening, Dec. 24, 2014 at Pinecrest Manor following a brief illness.
He was born Nov. 2, 1925 in Ridgway, son of the late Claude and Mae (Hawk) Healy.
He married Rita M. Frank on June 14, 1952, she survives.
He had resided in Ridgway all of his life, and he was a member of St. Leo Catholic Church, the church choir, the Ridgway Fire Department - Second Ward for 52 years, and the American Legion.
He served in the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1946, and he was a veteran of WWII.

Verna "Lavonne" Oermann

Verna "Lavonne" Oermann, 88, of 200 Dippold Ave., St. Marys, died Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2014 at her residence.
She was born May 3, 1926 in Timblin, daughter of the late Otis and Jeanette Brocious Snyder. She was a graduate of Punxsutawney High School and had resided in St. Marys since 1989. On Aug. 10, 1947, in Punxsutawney, she married Claude Karl Oermann, who preceded her in death in 1988.

Michele "Michael" Costanzo

Michele "Michael" Costanzo, 91, of 314 First Ave., Johnsonburg, died Monday morning, Dec. 22, 2014 at his residence following a brief illness.
He was born July 2, 1923 in Platina, Italy, son of the late Francisco and Maria Rosa Visconti Costanzo.
On Feb. 27, 1947, he married Emanuela Perri in Italy. She died Aug. 13, 2013.
He resided in Johnsonburg since 1950 and had graduated from high school in Italy.
He was a member of Holy Rosary Church where he was very active and was an usher for many years. He was an avid gardener.
He served in the army in Italy.

Jeanette T. "Janet" Yonker

Jeanette T. "Janet" Yonker, 89, of 155 W. Mill St., Ridgway, died Saturday, Dec. 20, 2014 at her home.
She was born Wednesday, Nov. 18, 1925, a daughter of the late Wilfred and Clara Young Neubert.
On July 30, 1960 in St. Benedict's in Daguscahonda, she married Paul Yonker, who survives.
