James Patrick Leslie, 50, of Ridgway, died after a courageous fight on Thursday, July 5, 2012 at UPMC Pittsburgh.
He was born Oct. 26, 1961 in Greenville, son of the late John C. Leslie and Patricia J. Benton.
John W. "Jack" Hrusth, 65, of 652 Byrnedale Rd., Weedville, died Friday evening, July 6, 2012 at his residence following a lengthy illness.
He was born May 17, 1947 in St. Marys, son of the late John D. and Mary Jane Lipsey Hrusth.
On Sept. 8, 1984 in the Virgin Islands, he married Dianne M. Wonderly, who survives.
He was a lifelong reside of the area and was a graduate of the St. Marys Area High School. He was formerly employed by the Metal Product Co. as a tool and die maker.
George "Butch" Hansen Sr., 62, of Shawmut Road, Brockport, died Friday, July 6, 2012 at the DuBois Regional Medical Center.
He was born March 23, 1950, in Sharon, Conn., son of the late Fredrick and Dorothy Amelia Ostrander Hansen. On Dec. 18, 1976, he married Patricia Judge, who survives.
Betty L. Scrimshaw, 80, of 1056 Theresia Street Apt A., St. Marys, died on Sunday, July 1, 2012 at Elk Regional Health Center following a brief illness.
She was born on Dec. 31, 1931 in Philadelphia, a daughter of the late Hartson and Beatrice Kilduff Watson.
She was married to the late Robert Johnson and the late Wayne Scrimshaw.
Mrs. Scrimshaw attended the Emporium Free Methodist Church.Â She enjoyed gardening, sewing and spending time with her family.Â
Frances K. Dragovich, 91, of Apple Street, Weedville, died on July 3, 2012 in Wellsboro.
Born on Dec. 27, 1920 in Weedville, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Pearl (Fraizer) Robinson of Weedville.â¨Frances was a homemaker and during WWII she worked in Emporium at the Sylvania plant where she met her husband Nick, who was in the Hunts Run CCC Camp in Emporium.
Robert J. Grieggs, 77, of Albuquerque, N.M., died at home on March 24, 2012.
He was born Jan. 12, 1935 in St. Marys, son of the late Thomas J. and Anna C. Francis Grieggs. On March 15, 1957, he married Betty (Hall) Grieggs, who survives.
He served in the U.S. Army and worked for many years at Stackpole Carbon Co. before moving to Los Alamos, N.M. in 1967, where he worked at the Los Alamos National Lab until his retirement in 1993. As a side job, he worked in refrigeration repair for many years. He was also an avid hunter.
Mary Lou Peterson, 80, of DuBois, died on Monday, July 2, 2012 at Elk Haven Nursing Home in St. Marys.
Born on May 24, 1932 in Punxsutawney, she was the daughter of the late Frederick Weir Radaker and Hazel Katherine (Adamson) Radaker. On April 13, 1966, she married Frederick Peterson in the Presbyterian Church in DuBois. He preceded her in death on July 10, 1981.
Mrs. Peterson was a homemaker. She was a wonderful mother who especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mary M. Vollmer, 66, of 1045 Powers Run, St. Marys, died Sunday, July 1, 2012 at her home surrounded by her family and friends.
She was born June 18, 1946 in St. Marys, daughter of the late Leo âBootsâ and Marie McMahon Breindel. On July 10, 1971 in the Sacred Heart Church, she married Benedict âBusterâ Vollmer, who survives.
Patricia L. "Pat" Jacobs, 77, of 504 High St., Johnsonburg, died Sunday, July 1, 2012 at her residence following a lengthy illness.
She was born on Jan. 28, 1935 in Kane, daughter of the late Lloyd and Bertha Fox Swedenjelm.
On Sept. 4, 1954 in Holy Rosary Church, Johnsonburg, she married Richard H. "Rich" Jacobs, and he survives.
She resided in Johnsonburg since 1969. She was a 1952 graduate of Kane High School. She was employed by Lyn-Clare Flower Shop in Johnsonburg for 10 years and Blue Cross/Blue Shield in Baltimore, Md. for two years.
Ray L. Blauser, 79, of 647 S. St. Marys Road, St. Marys, and formerly of Shefï¬eld, died on Sunday, July 1, 2012 at DuBois Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.
He was born June 19, 1933 in Mayburg, a son of the late Perry and Bernetta Hanley Blauser.
Â Ray was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Korean War from 1952-1953.Â He retired from Motion Control after many years of service.Â He was a member of the Ridgway VFW and enjoyed hunting and ï¬shing.
