Kenneth E. Burgeson, 77, of 1890 Bucktail Rd., St. Marys, died on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013 at Pinecrest Manor following a lengthy illness.
He was born April 13, 1935 in Ridgway, a son of the late Winifred Schrift Burgeson. On Oct. 6, 1956 in Sacred Heart Church, he married Ilene Leviski Burgeson, who survives.
William W. Thompson, M.D., 89, of 314 South St., Ridgway, died Friday morning at Elk Regional Health Center following a lengthy illness.
He was born Nov. 28, 1923, in Knox, son of the late David R. and Veronica A. (Dougherty) Thompson, both educators in the Elk County School System. He married Alice Marie DeVoge on July 26, 1952. She survives.
Stephen A. Lion, 64, of 205 Ford Rd., St. Marys, died unexpectedly Wednesday evening, Jan. 2, 2013 at the Elk Regional Health Center.
He was born May 2, 1948 in St. Marys, son of the late Robert G. and Irene Wehler Lion.
On Nov. 13, 1971 in the St. Boniface Church, he married Alice R. Collins, who survives.
He was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Elk County Christian High School, Class of 1967. He was a retired employee of SGL Carbon Company, retiring in 2009 after 42 1/2 years of service.
James F. Lenze, 62, of 122 Reserve Rd., St. Marys, died at his residence Wednesday evening, Jan. 2, 2013, after a brief illness.
He was born July 15, 1950 in St. Marys, son of the late Albert J. and Mary Martha Bauer Lenze Jr.
He was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Elk County Christian High School, Class of 1969. He was an employee of the Keystone Carbon Company for 43 years.
Michael V. Ehrensberger, 38, of Pittsburgh, died Monday, Dec. 31, 2012 at Sweden Valley Manor in Coudersport.
Born on March 2, 1974 in St. Marys, he was the son of Jan Ehrensberger and Kathleen D. Visneski.
He was a graduate of Johnsonburg High School and Gannon University in Erie. He was the manager of three Crazy Mocha coffee houses in Pittsburgh. He enjoyed art, running and had an infectious laugh.
Roger J. Klaiber Sr., 73, of 24 Old State Rd., Kane, died Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012 at UPMC Hamot.
Born April 12, 1939, in St. Marys, he was a son ofÂ the late Howard and Helen Simbeck Klaiber.Â On Jan. 8, 1966, in Kane, he married Sandra Jones, who survives.
A 1957 graduate of Kane High School, Roger worked at Stackpole for 15 years and later for the Pa. Department of Transportation, from which he retired in 2001 after 30 years of service.
Mr. Klaiber was a lifetime member of the BPOE #329 and enjoyed bowling, hunting, horseshoes and NASCAR.
David Wayne Blazek, 59, of 212 Teaberry Rd., St. Marys, died on Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012 at Elk Regional Health Center following a lengthy illness.
He was born on April 21, 1953 in East Bernard, Texas, son of the late Bill and Letha Hintz Blazek.
On June 24, 1978, in the St. Thomas More Church in Houston, Texas, he married Patty Treylinek, who survives.
He had resided in St. Marys since 1980. Mr. Blazek was a graduate of East Bernard High School, Class of 1971, attended the Wharton Junior College and was a graduate of the University of Houston Pharmacy School in 1976.
William Steele, 81, of Elmira, N.Y., died on Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012 following a lengthy illness.
He was born on March 24, 1931 in St. Marys, the son of the late James H. and Barbara (Swack) Steele.
Bill grew up in St. Marys and attended the St. Marys area schools. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He worked at Modern Dairy and later at Stackpole Carbon Company. Later, he moved to Elmira, N.Y., where he lived and eventually died.

Doris M. Hasselman, 72, of 633 Evergreen Rd., St. Marys, died comfortably at home on Friday, Dec. 28, 2012 after a brief illness.
She was born Dec. 22, 1940 in St. Marys, daughter of the late Robert and Louise Solic Schneider. On Oct. 22, 1960 in the Sacred Heart Church, she married LeRoy G. â€śTubbyâ€ť Hasselman, who survives.
Mrs. Hasselman was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Central Catholic High School. She was a member of the Queen of the World Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family, sewing and playing cards with her friends.
Alfred F. Dubler, 81, of Montclair, Calif., died on Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012 at the Upland Rehab and Care Center.
He was born Jan. 11, 1931 in Ridgway, son of John and Doris Lindgren Dubler.
