The Elk County Catholic Crusaders will meet the Johnsonburg Rams this evening at 8 p.m. in the finals of the ECCHS Boysâ€™ Junior Varsity Basketball Tournament.
Elk Catholic advanced to the finals, rallying to beat the St. Marys Area Flying Dutchmen 51-43, while the Johnsonburg Rams rolled over the Ridgway Elkers 64-35.

The first period of play saw the Dutch dominate the Crusaders as they opened an 18-7 lead. Elk Catholic outscored St. Marys 11-10 in the second period to cut the St. Marys lead to 28-18 at the half.
The Elk County Catholic Lady Crusaders will meet the Johnsonburg Ramettes tonight at 6:30 p.m. in the championship game of the ECCHS Girlsâ€™ Junior Varsity Basketball Tournament.
Elk Catholic reached the finals with a 31-8 win over Ridgway, while Johnsonburg defeated St. Marys Area 52-40.

The Lady Crusaders opened an 11-4 first-period lead over the Lady Elkers. The second period saw Elk outscore Ridgway 9-0 to take a 20-4 halftime lead.
Elk Catholic's Crusaders recorded a big victory on Thursday evening when they handed the previously undefeated DuBois Central Cardinals a 69-64 overtime loss at the Aaron J. Straub Gym on the Elk Catholic campus. Ben Daghir's three-point shot at the buzzer tied the game at 54-all at the end of regulation, then the Crusaders outscored the Cardinals 15-10 in the OT to win the game.
"This was a good win against a very good team," stated Coach Aaron Straub of the Crusaders. "I am very happy with the way we played tonight. We played a very aggressive ball game, both on offense and defense."
The Port Allegany Gators overcame an early lead by the St. Marys Area Flying Dutch wrestlers to come up with a 36-29 victory last night at the SMAHS Dutch Oven.
St. Marys was able to take a 17-0 lead as Damien Wensel recorded an 8-4 decision at 103 pounds over Lucas Manning. Trenton Bowers gave the Dutch a 9-0 lead when he pinned Dalton Caden at the one-minute mark of their 112-pound match.
The St. Marys Area Lady Dutch remained perfect on the young season with a 70-41 victory over the DuBois Central Catholic Lady Cardinals last night at the SMAHS Dutch Oven.
The Lady Dutch opened a 24-6 lead after the first eight minutes of play and never looked back. They placed three players in double figures, led by Kayla Hoohuliâ€™s 5 points on three twos, two threes and a three-for-three night from the foul line. Adair Gennocro added 13 points on five twos and a three. Jenna Anderson scored 11 points on four twos and a three, while Shelby Zomcik added nine points.
The DuBois Area Lady Beavers overcame a 10-point, third-quarter lead by the Elk Catholic Lady Crusaders on Wednesday evening to pull out a 49-43 victory in a District Nine League game at the Aaron J. Straub Gym on the Elk Catholic campus.
The loss dropped the Elk County girls to 3-2 on the season, while DuBois Area ran their slate to 4-1 on the season.
The Coudersport Falcons used a 14-for-14 effort from the foul line in the fourth quarter to defeat the St. Marys Area Flying Dutchmen by a 59-51 score last night at the Dutch Oven.
St. Marys held a slim 40-38 lead going into the final eight minutes of play. In the fourth quarter, the Falcons outscored the Dutch by a 21-11 margin to come out on top.
â€śWe struggled from the foul line tonight but it was our inability to stop their penetration. They were able to penetrate too easily,â€ť said St. Marys coach Mark Guido.
The Elk County Catholic Crusaders suffered their second setback of the season on Tuesday evening, when they were nipped 66-65 by the DuBois Area High Beavers in a District Nine League encounter played at the DuBois gym.
The loss dropped the Crusaders to 2-2 on the season.
The Lady Dutch of St. Marys Area High School ran their slate to 5-0 on Monday evening as they handed the Port Allegany Lady Gators a 60-33 setback in a game played at the "Dutch Oven".
The Lady Gators led only once in the ball game, and that was at the start, 2-0. St. Marys used a pressure defense to control the ball game, as they forced the Lady Gators into turnover after turnover, especially during the first half.
The Elk County Catholic Lady Crusader basketball team held off the DuBois Central Catholic Lady Cardinals by a 43-39 score last night in an Allegheny Mountain League game played at the DCCHS gym.
The Lady Crusaders took a 20-15 lead at the half, then held on as the Lady Cardinals outscored ECC by a 24-23 margin in the last 16 minutes of play.
â€śThis was a nice win on the road,â€ť said ECCHS coach Ken Pistner.
â€śOur transition game improved tonight and we played good defense, holding Hopkins to nine points,â€ť noted Pistner.
