The St. Marys Area gymnastics team recorded their fourth win of the season last night as they defeated the Ridgway squad by a 129.2250 to 108.7750 score at the St. Marys Area Middle School gym.
Molly Eshbach set a new school record on the vault last night with a score of 9.3500.
“The team brought it all tonight. The kids are finally hitting their beam routines and are improving on their bar routines, which is significantly making a difference in our team score,” said St. Marys coach Irene McCandless.
The Elk County Catholic Crusaders recorded a 56-47 victory over a very scrappy Bradford Area High School squad on Wednesday evening at the Aaron J. Straub Gymnasium on the Elk Catholic Campus. The game was a District Nine League encounter and upped the ECCHS record in the league to 3-1, while knocking Bradford back to 1-4.
Last night's win was also a milestone win for ECCHS Coach Aaron Straub, as it was his 639th win on the boys' level, making him the winningest coach in District Nine history.
