Crusaders top Sheffield to win AML North

Elk County Catholic's Crusaders wrapped up the AML North Division title last evening with a 74-47 victory over the visiting Sheffield Area High Wolverines in a game played at the Aaron J. Straub gym at Elk Catholic.
With the win, the Crusaders will host the No. 2 team out of the South Divison on Friday, Feb. 18, for the right to play in the AML championship game on Saturday, Feb. 19 at St. Marys Area High School.

Lady Crusaders roll over Lady Wolverines 61-14

The Elk County Catholic Lady Crusader basketball team ran their Allegheny Mountain League North Division record to 5-1 with a 61-14 victory over the Sheffield Lady Wolverines last night at Sheffield.
The Lady Crusaders were able to outscore their hosts 35-6 in the first half and 26-8 in the second 16 minutes of play.
“I thought we ran the court well tonight,” said ECCHS coach Ken Pistner.
“Our shooting percentage from the field and the line continue to improve. We are continuing to improve with each game.”

Lady Crusaders hold off Brookville for 52-48 D9 League win

ECC travels to Sheffield tonight

The Elk County Catholic Lady Crusaders evened their District 9 League record at 2-2 with a 52-48 victory over the Brookville Lady Raiders Saturday night at the ECCHS gym.
The Lady Crusaders controlled the first half of play when they outscored the Lady Raiders by a 30-18 margin. In the second half, Brookville outscored the Lady Crusaders by a 30-22 margin.
“This was a hard-fought game. Brookville played exceptionally well tonight. They are a well-coached team,” said ECCHS coach Ken Pistner.
