The St. Marys Legion baseball team came from behind last night to defeat the Smethport Legion by a 10-8 score in an Elk County Legion Baseball League game played at Berwind Park.
After four innings of play, Smethport held an 8-4 lead over St. Marys. The locals scored six runs in the fifth and sixth innings to record the victory.
“The first inning was disastrous for us. We just didn’t look good defensively,” said St. Marys manager Fran Pasi. “Don’t ask me what it takes to get us over the first inning hump.
