The St. Marys Little League Baseball Senior all-stars advanced to the finals of the District 10 Tournament with a 10-3 victory over the Cameron County squad Monday afternoon at Berwind Park.
St. Marys will be off until Saturday when they play the winner of Wednesday’s Cameron County vs. DuBois game, which is the finals of the loser’s bracket. The site has yet to be determined for either game.
The St. Marys 11-12-year-old all-stars came from behind to beat the Ridgway all-stars by a 10-7 score Sunday afternoon at Memorial Park.
Ridgway was leading the contest 7-5 going into the top half of the sixth. St. Marys came up with five runs in that inning to record the 10-7 victory.
St. Marys is in action tonight at 6 p.m. against the loser of the Punxsutawney vs. DuBois game that was also played on Sunday. This will be the finals of the loser’s bracket.
The St. Marys Little League Junior All-Stars used a strong nine-run first inning to set the stage for their victory over the Ridgway Little League All-Stars Sunday afternoon at Memorial Park. After building a large lead, St. Marys’ batters were able to answer Ridgway’s runs and cruised to a 14-4 victory in five innings.
