Lady Crusader tennis beats Clearfield 9-0

August 31, 2011

The Elk County Catholic Lady Crusader tennis team raised their record to 3-1 on the season Tuesday afternoon when they defeated the Clearfield Lady Bisons by a 9-0 score in a match played at Benzinger Park.
“We played well against a young, inexperienced Clearfield squad. This was Clearfield’s first match of the season. They have a very nice group of young ladies. They’re enthusiastic about playing and there’s no doubt they’ll improve in their future matches,” said ECCHS coach Pete Meier.
At first singles, ECC’s Abby Meyer defeated Lauren Whitmer 6-0, 6-0.
