Clarion Bobcats hand Dutchmen 40-28 setback

CLARION - A second-half rally by the St. Marys Area Flying Dutch came up short last night at Clarion University’s Memorial Stadium as the Clarion Area Bobcats came away with a 40-28 victory.
The Bobcats took a 33-7 halftime lead only to see the Dutch outscore Clarion by a 21-7 margin in the second half of play.
“The game was lost in the first half but I am very proud of our effort in the second half,” said St. Marys coach Joe Schlimm. “We competed really well in the third and fourth quarters.”
“Clarion is a very good football team,” added Schlimm.

Lady Dutch soccer holds off Kane 3-2

The St. Marys Area Lady Dutch soccer team overcame an early 1-0 deficit and then held off an attempted rally by the Lady Wolves to claim a 3-2 win on Thursday afternoon at the SMAHS soccer field.
"I think our team is finally finding its rhythm and people are doing their jobs in their positions," said St. Marys Area coach Johanna Schmidt.

Lady Wolves volleyball takes 3-2 win over Lady Dutch

The Kane Lady Wolves edged St. Marys Area 3-2 in an exciting volleyball match at the Dutch Oven on Thursday evening. The game featured several momentum shifts, with the Lady Wolves winning the first set 25-15, the Lady Dutch taking the next two games 25-23 and 25-21, respectively, and then Kane coming back to win it with scores of 25-13 and 15-8 in the fourth and fifth sets.
