The St. Marys Area Lady Dutch basketball team saw their 2011-12 season come to an end last night in McDonald when they were eliminated from the PIAA Class AAA girls’ tournament by the South Fayette Lady Lions by a 43-36 score.
While the Lady Dutch held a three-point lead at the half, 24-21, a poor third quarter was the big difference in the contest. The Lady Lions were able to outscore the Lady Dutch by a 12-2 margin in the third period of play.
