The Elk County Catholic Crusader tennis team defeated the Clearfield Bisons 7-2 on Monday afternoon in a contest played at Benzinger and Memorial parks in St. Marys.
The St. Marys Area Flying Dutch baseball team lost a tough 3-2 contest to the Hollidaysburg Golden Tigers Monday afternoon at Berwind Park.
The Dutch took the early 1-0 first-inning lead. Hollidaysburg came back with two runs in the second inning to take the lead. The Tigers scored a run in the top of the sixth inning, while St. Marys scored a run in the home half of the seventh on a home run by Branden Tyger.
“That was Branden Tyger’s day today,” said St. Marys coach Tony Azzato. “He threw an outstanding ball game and had a huge home run.
