The St. Marys Area Dutch baseball squad fell to Altoona 17-3 on Thursday afternoon in a contest at Berwind Park.
"That final score doesn't constitute how this game was, I don't think. I think we played better than the 17-3 score," said St. Marys Area coach Tony Azzato.
Altoona took a three-run lead in the first inning and went up 4-0 with another run in the second. Both teams scored a run in the fourth to make the score 5-1 and the Dutchmen pushed two more runs through in the fifth to cut the Mountain Lions' lead to 5-3.
