RIDGWAY - St. Marys Area baseball scored in four of the six innings played in a 10-0, 6-inning win over Ridgway Monday afternoon at Sandy Beach Recreational Park.
St. Marys was off to a fast start as Mitchell Meyer hit a home run to left with the first at bat of the game to put the Dutch up 1-0.
The St. Marys Area Lady Dutch were shut out 2-0 on senior night by the Williamsport Millionaires on Monday afternoon at the SMAHS softball field.
Both teams struggled to get their offenses going, with St. Marys Area only recording one hit while Williamsport had three. The Millionaires scored both of their runs in the top of the third inning.
"We played good defensively," said St. Marys Area coach Manny Gerarge. "We were making some contact throughout the game, but when we started the last inning we had some hard hits and they made a few good plays."
