DuBOIS – The Elk County Catholic Crusader tennis squad defeated the St. Marys Area Flying Dutchmen 4-1 at the DuBois Area High School tennis courts to claim the 2012 District 9 AA Boys' Tennis Team Championship on Wednesday afternoon in a match played under threatening skies that ultimately transitioned to a light drizzle just as the final match was finishing up.
Wednesday’s Kane at Elk County Catholic softball game was suspended in the top half of the fourth inning due to unplayable field conditions.
The game was suspended in the top half of the fourth inning with the Lady Wolves leading by a 1-0 score. They had the bases loaded at the time.
Abbey Bauer started on the mound for Elk, giving up three hits, walking two and striking out three. Kyla Hoag started on the mound for Kane, giving up one hit, walking one and striking out six.
