Will meet Ridgway Saturday at Memorial Park
The St. Marys Little League Baseball Major League all-star squad suffered an 11-6 loss at the hands of the Punxsutawney squad last night at Memorial Park.
St. Marys now falls into the loser’s bracket, where they will meet Ridgway on Saturday at 4 p.m. at Memorial Park.
In last night’s game, both teams had 10 hits. Getting the hits for the St. Marys squad were Tim Wehler and Hayden Tettis, both with a double and a single. Gabe Kraus had two singles while Brendon Rolley, Alec Wehler, Ryan Heary and Logan Hoffman each singled.
The St. Marys American Legion Baseball team raised their record to 9-3 on the season with a 10-3 victory over the Bradford Legion Wednesday night at Berwind Park.
WILCOX – Cole Peterson made the start on the mound Wednesday for Wilcox in American Legion baseball against Fox Township and stole the show with not only a complete game 5-2 win but also a perfect 4 for 4 showing at the plate.
Peterson struck out nine batters on the night while working out of trouble with runners in scoring position four times.
