Crusaders edge Lancers 4-3 to advance to semifinals

June 7, 2012

INDIANA – The Neshannock Lancers may have had more fans in the stands and around the field at Thursday afternoon's quarterfinal contest at the White Township Recreation Complex in Indiana, but the Elk County Catholic Crusader squad made enough noise both on and off the field to keep the momentum in their favor as they pulled off a 4-3 victory to advance to the PIAA Class A baseball championship semifinals.
Jack Herzing went the distance on the mound for the Crusaders, giving up three hits, walking two, and striking out seven.
