The St. Marys Area Swim and Dive team will compete at the 2013 PIAA District IX Swim and Dive Championships Saturday at Clarion University’s Tippin Natatorium.
February 24th
CLARION - The St. Marys Area Flying Dutch wrestling team will be sending seven representatives to the PIAA Class AAA Northwest Regional this coming weekend at Altoona Area High School following the District 4/9 Individual Wrestling Championships held at Clarion University.
February 22nd
In a game full of twists and turns, the Johnsonburg Rams (24-2) battled back from a 13-point deficit to defeat Elk County Catholic (19-7) by a 57-52 score, their fifth win of the season at the Crusaders' expense.
February 21st
The St. Marys Area Lady Dutch basketball team was eliminated from the District 9 Class AAA tournament by the Punxsutawney Lady Chucks by a 50-47 score Thursday night at the SMAHS Dutch Oven.
The Johnsonburg Ramettes gave up an early lead, but then used a strong second half to defeat the Elk County Catholic Lady Crusaders 39-32 in a District 9 Class A quarterfinal playoff game on Thursday evening at Elk County Catholic High School.
February 19th
The Elk County Catholic Crusaders advanced to the quarterfinals of the District 9 Class A tournament with a 78-43 victory over the Port Allegany Gators Tuesday night at the ECCHS gym.
February 18th
The St. Marys Area gymnastics team traveled to Moon Township to participate in the PA Classic Gymnastics Championships over the weekend, falling just short of second place by less than one tenth of a point and placing third in the team standings while walking away with 12 medals, including a new state champion on three events as Nicole Florio won three state championships in the Bronze Division, earning the top scores on vault, 8.833; floor exercises, 8.275; and in the all-around, 32.541.
February 17th
The Elk County Catholic Lady Crusader basketball team won the Allegheny Mountain League championship Saturday night at the St. Marys Area High School by edging the Kane Lady Wolves by a 42-39 score.
Johnsonburg won the boys' basketball AML championship with a 47-35 victory over Elk County Catholic in the boys' AML championship game Saturday night at St. Marys Area High School.
February 15th
The Elk County Catholic Lady Crusader basketball team advanced to the Allegheny Mountain League championship game by defeating Curwensville by a 58-31 score Friday night at the ECCHS gym.
