The St. Marys Little League Softball Senior All-Stars advanced to the finals of the District 10 Senior Tournament with a 12-2, five-inning victory over the Elk County squad Monday night at Benzinger Park.

Jewett squad on Monday evening at Memorial Park. The game was called after St. Marys scored eight runs and still had the bases loaded with no outs in the top of the fifth inning.

The game featured an exciting back-and-forth battle that included seven home runs between both teams, and St. Marys ultimately emerged the victor by a score of 13-10.

Just after 10 a.m. on Friday morning, the tennis courts at Benzinger Park came alive with the sounds of rollerblades racing up and down the surface, sticks hitting against each other as players fought for the ball, and that ball bouncing off the post of one of the nets as a player took a shot on goal. The excitement was all part of Benzinger Park's youth hockey league, which is a new activity at the facility this year.
The St. Marys Little League Softball Major League all-stars played host to the Punxsutawney girls Friday night at Benzinger Park in a District 10 elimination game.
Punxsutawney came away with a 10-1 victory over St. Marys eliminating St. Marys from the District 10 tournament. St. Marys had opened play in the tournament on June 16 when they suffered a 7-2 loss to Warren sending them to the loser's bracket. Punxsutawney lost by a 7-1 score to DuBois on Monday.
