The Elk County Catholic Lady Crusaders and Ridgway Lady Elkers met for a rematch on Saturday morning in the consolation game of the Bucktail Girls' Soccer Tournament at the SMAHS soccer field. As was the case in their game earlier this season, ECC emerged with the 1-0 victory.
The St. Marys Area Flying Dutch soccer team saw their record slip to 1-3 on the year as they dropped a 6-2 contest to the Port Allegany Gators Saturday afternoon at the SMAHS soccer field.
The Dutch are in action this afternoon at 4 p.m. when they play host to the Brockway Rovers at 4 p.m.
The St. Marys Area Flying Dutchmen hosted the Karns City Gremlins Friday night at Dutch Country Stadium on Elementary Night.
The Gremlins came away with a 42-0 KSAC Big School victory.
The St. Marys Area Lady Dutch defeated the Ridgway Lady Elkers 3-1 on Friday afternoon in the opening round of the 16th annual Bucktail Girls' Soccer Tournament to advance to today's championship game.
The Elk County Catholic Lady Crusaders put up a good fight but were unable to hold off a second half rally by the Bradford Lady Owls in the opening round of this year's Bucktail Girls' Soccer Tournament on Friday afternoon in a match played at Benzinger Park. Bradford won 3-1 to advance to today's title game against the St. Marys Area Lady Dutch.
The games were played a few days apart, but the outcome and final score ended up being the same. For the second time in less than a week the Elk County Catholic Crusaders shut out the St. Marys Area Flying Dutchmen 5-0, though this time the game was played at the SMAHS soccer field.
Lady Crusader senior Kirstie Wehler recorded the 1,000th kill of her high school volleyball career on Thursday evening as the ECC squad defeated the Brockway Lady Rovers in three sets in a match played at the ECCHS gymnasium.
The St. Marys Area Lady Dutch volleyball team ran their record to 3-1 on the season as they defeated the Ridgway Lady Elkers by a 3-0 score last night at the SMAHS Dutch Oven.
The Elk County Catholic Lady Crusader tennis team defeated the Johnsonburg Ramettes by a 7-2 score in a match played at Johnsonburg Thursday.
The Elk County Catholic High School golf team suffered their second loss in a row on Thursday afternoon when the lost to the Bradford Owls by 10 strokes, 216-226, at Leaning Pines Public Golf Course.
