The Elk County Catholic Lady Crusader volleyball team opened their dual match season Tuesday night by defeating the Bradford Lady Owls in three sets, 25-21, 25-21 and 25-22.
The Elk County Catholic Lady Crusader soccer team's home opener at Benzinger Park on Tuesday afternoon featured a little bit of everything in terms of weather. There was sunshine, wind, and then a lengthy weather delay with thunder, lightning, and rain. None of that impacted the ECC squad though as they put in a strong showing and used a three-goal second half to defeat the Curwensville Lady Tide 4-1.
Â Despite the best efforts of the Crusader football team, there was one objective they were unable to accomplish on Friday night: successfully dumping a bucket of ice on head coach Tony Gerg in celebration of his first coaching victory. Everything else seemed to go the team's way though as they romped to a 32-0 shutout over the Coudersport Falcons in a contest played under the lights at C.A.R.P. Park in Coudersport.

The St. Marys Area Lady Dutch tennis team suffered a 6-3 lost to the DuBois Area Lady Beavers Thursday afternoon at the SMAHS tennis courts.
The Lady Dutch, now 2-2 on the season, return to action next Tuesday when they travel to Brockway for a 3:30 p.m. match.

The Wolves downed the Dutchmen by a 241-249 score.
The Elk County Catholic Lady Crusader tennis team opened their 2014 fall season with a 9-0 shutout victory over the Johnsonburg Ramettes on Tuesday afternoon at Benzinger Park.
The Lady Crusaders are now 1-0 on the season and will be back in action on Thursday when they travel to DuBois Area High School to take on the Lady Beavers in a 3:30 p.m. match.
