The Elk County Catholic Lady Crusader volleyball team remained unbeaten in regular season play as they defeated the St. Marys Area Lady Dutch 3-0 in a match played Tuesday at the ECCHS gym.
St. Marys Area hosted its last home cross country meet of the season on Tuesday afternoon. It was also senior night for the cross country team and they honored their two seniors, Austin Frey and Casey Kline.Â
St. Marys did not have enough boys for a team as they only fielded three runners, and Brookville did not have enough girls for a team with only four runners.
The Elk County Catholic cross country squads hosted runners from Kane on Tuesday afternoon during a rainy meet at Benzinger Park.
The Crusaders defeated the Kane Wolves by a score of 15-44. Kane did not have enough runners to field a girls' team.

Elk County Catholic senior Mitchell Struble finished as the District 9 Class AA boys' golf runner-up on Saturday following a four-hole playoff against Ridgway's Josh Roselli at the Punxsutawney Country Club in Punxsutawney.
It was a chilly and windy fall morning on Saturday, but it turned out to be a good day for soccer for the St. Marys Area Flying Dutchmen as they avenged their loss to Punxsutawney earlier this season with a 1-0 win over the Chucks in a match played at the SMAHS soccer field.
The two teams met for the first time this season on Tuesday, Sept. 23 in Punxsutawney, and the Chucks won that match 3-2.
The Elk County Catholic cross country squads put in strong performances at the Ridgway Invitational which was held at the Francis S. Grandinetti Elementary School on Saturday. The Lady Crusaders placed fifth out of nine teams while the Crusaders came in third out of 14 teams. Lady Crusader Tori Dippold dominated the girls' race, finishing over a minute faster than her closest competitor. She had a winning time of 18:53.4.
The St. Marys Area cross country runners took part in the Ridgway Invitational on Saturday at the Francis S. Grandinetti Elementary School in Ridgway. The Lady Dutch finished second among nine girls' teams and also had three team members place in the top eight.
The St. Marys Area Flying Dutchmen defeated the Clarion-Limestone Lions by a 50-18 score in a KSAC game played at Clarion-Limestone last night.
Both the Elk County Catholic Crusaders and the Ridgway Elkers took 5-0 records into Friday night's game at Dutch Country Stadium, but it was the Elkers who would steal the show, outplaying the Crusaders on both sides of the ball to win 35-7 in a dominating performance.
